In residential areas, programs to care for migrant workers, the elderly, and those in difficult circumstances during Tet (Lunar New Year) are implemented synchronously, creating a warm and sharing atmosphere in the community. The spirit of spring is present in every family, every residential area, and even in the image of tourists visiting Vietnam during Tet.
From these specific examples, it can be seen that Tet is not only a time for cultural and spiritual activities, but also clearly reflects the organizational and administrative capacity of the political and social systems at all levels. The beautiful feelings, stories, and images spreading throughout society show that Tet, a time of reunion and peace, is the "meeting point" between the joy of people's reunion and the dedicated responsibility of the entire political system in caring for the people's lives.
The traditional Lunar New Year of the Vietnamese people is associated with two enduring values: family reunion and peace. In the context of a rapidly developing country and increasing urbanization, these two values have become a measure of the governance capacity and quality of service of the public administration. A joyful and peaceful Lunar New Year must be reflected in the stability of social life: security and order are maintained, goods circulate smoothly, electricity, water, and healthcare are guaranteed, and transportation operates safely and conveniently so that people can celebrate the New Year and enjoy the spring festivities.
These things give the people a clear sense of responsibility and service capacity of the political system at all levels. The peace of mind during the Tet holiday is the result of early preparation at the grassroots level; of clear assignment of tasks; and of the readiness and prompt handling of any arising situations by various forces carrying out their duties. When many families reunite, the demands for discipline and order within the administrative apparatus at all levels are also more strictly enforced, clearly demonstrating public service responsibility to the people.
From a state management perspective, Tet (Lunar New Year) is a crucial time to test administrative capacity. From forecasting and coordination among various sectors and levels to proactiveness and responsibility in task execution, everything is assessed at a high level. A peaceful spring season demonstrates the smooth operation of the system, the maintenance of discipline, and the absence of management gaps, delays, or shirking of responsibility by those carrying out their duties.
In recent statements, particularly during a working session in Ho Chi Minh City on February 9th, General Secretary To Lam emphasized the requirement that the satisfaction, well-being, and happiness of the people should be the measure of the effectiveness of leadership, management, and administration; and demanded clear responsibilities for each person, task, and action in implementation. This is a principle that needs to be consistently upheld throughout the governance and administration of society by the entire political system.
As spring arrives, this spirit must be realized through discipline, responsibility, and effective policies, with the people as the primary beneficiaries. Ensuring a joyful and peaceful spring for the people is not merely the result of the peak days at the end of the year, but the achievement of disciplined governance, a well-functioning system, and a consistent spirit of service. Choosing the right people and assigning the right tasks will further strengthen social trust, and this is the foundation for the country to enter the new year proactively and sustainably.
