After a 6-1 win over Leeds five days ago, Liverpool continued their good form when they hosted Nottingham at home in round 32 of the Premier League. The opponent was a team that was racing to avoid relegation so they played very enthusiastically, but The Kop still got three points.
After a goalless first half, Jota put the Anfield team ahead in the 47th minute. The Portuguese headed the ball into the net from close range after Fabinho's pass, coming from a Liverpool corner.

The home team's advantage lasted only four minutes. In the 51st minute, the visitors launched a sharp attack while Liverpool's defense was in disarray. Williams shot from the edge of the penalty area, the ball bounced off a home player's foot and into the right corner, leaving Alisson unable to block.
It only took four more minutes for Liverpool to regain the lead. In the 55th minute, Jota comfortably received the ball in the penalty area, the Portuguese player turned and shot diagonally into the net to score.
Nottingham did not give up, the visitors still played with determination. In the 67th minute, Gibbs-White received the ball at the edge of the penalty area and volleyed, the ball hit the feet of two home team players and went into the left corner of the goal. Alisson dived but could not block it, Nottingham got the equalizer 2-2.

In the 70th minute, Salah swooped down and cushioned the ball from 5m after Alexander-Arnold's cross, the ball hit the right post and bounced into the net. The home team's defender made a positioning error, allowing the Egyptian striker to avoid being offside and Liverpool to increase the score to 3-2.
Liverpool held on for the third time, taking the lead and moving up to seventh place. The Reds are now just six points behind fourth-placed Newcastle, but have played one game more.
