In the fierce battle of the popular MPV segment in Vietnam, Suzuki XL7 Hybrid is looking to increase its competitiveness against strong rivals such as Mitsubishi Xpander, Toyota Veloz Cross, Hyundai Stargazer.
To stimulate demand, Suzuki Vietnam has just applied an attractive discount and incentive program, especially a support level of up to 60 million VND for cars manufactured in 2024. 2025 cars also receive incentives equivalent to 30 million VND.

The listed price of the XL7 Hybrid single-tone version is 599.9 million VND and the two-tone version is 607.9 million VND. Notably, this selling price remains unchanged despite the addition of some new equipment, demonstrating the effort to keep the price to reach customers who love the durability and practicality typical of the Suzuki brand.
The XL7 Hybrid is a mid-life facelift version, imported completely from Indonesia. The car retains the same overall design but has slight adjustments to the black painted grille and adds some amenities such as automatic headlights, guide lights, and automatic folding mirrors.

The interior is also refreshed with new trim and door trim details. The upgraded 10-inch entertainment screen supports wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
Notably, the car has cruise control for the first time, a popular feature in the segment. However, the XL7 still lacks an electronic parking brake and automatic brake hold feature.

The XL7 Hybrid’s most important highlight is its new mild-hybrid powertrain. It combines a naturally aspirated 1.5L petrol engine with an ISG electric motor and a compact 12V lithium-ion battery. This system assists in starting, accelerating and coasting, significantly reducing fuel consumption.
According to the announcement, the car only consumes 5.3 liters/100 km of mixed road, a very impressive number. This is the only popular MPV model in Vietnam equipped with a mild-hybrid engine.

With a starting price of 599 million VND, the XL7 Hybrid is nearly 60 million VND cheaper than the highest version of the Mitsubishi Xpander. However, the Xpander still has an advantage in terms of safety systems, technology and modern design.
Compared to the Hyundai Stargazer, which has a much lower starting price (from 489 million), the XL7 is less advantageous in terms of amenities. In return, thanks to the hybrid engine, the XL7 scores strongly in fuel economy - a factor that is increasingly being concerned.
The addition of equipment and strong incentives show that Suzuki is trying to renew its products and compete. However, in the context of competitors constantly improving and deeply discounting, Suzuki XL7 Hybrid will need more to be able to break through in sales and challenge the leading position of Xpander in the segment. Is the ability to save fuel enough to convince customers?
