Thanh Hoa rectifies the situation of newly admitted students requesting to transfer schools

(Dan Tri) - The Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee directed the Departmentof Education and Training and related units to urgently inspect and rectify the situation of many newly admitted high school students who have requested to transfer schools.

On October 25, information from the Office of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, Mr. Dau Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of this province, directed the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to urgently inspect and promptly rectify the situation where many newly admitted high school students have applied to transfer schools.

Previously, as Dan Tri reported, although it was only the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, dozens of high school students in Thanh Hoa province had requested to transfer schools.

Specifically, Ham Rong High School has more than 10 students, Nguyen Trai High School has nearly 10 students, Dao Duy Tu High School has more than 5 students transferred from other schools. The transferred students are all in 10th grade.

Students transferred to the above 3 schools have all registered for the entrance exam or applied for the second choice to study at schools on the outskirts of Thanh Hoa city and the districts of Quang Xuong, Dong Son, Hoang Hoa...

Most of these students requested to transfer schools because they wanted to move closer to home for convenience, without any special reason. Not only that, some of the transfer applications also had the initials of the leaders of the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training.

It is worth mentioning that some students are transferred from schools with low entrance scores to schools with high entrance scores and good quality.

In addition, at Ham Rong High School, there were 3 students who failed the entrance exam, but after submitting a transfer application, they were able to return to the school they previously failed to study.

According to the leader of the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training, transferring schools at the beginning of the school year is not in accordance with regulations.
