Thanh Hoa spends nearly 3,900 billion VND to build resettlement area for high-speed railway project

On July 9, information from the office of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province said that this locality has just sent an official dispatch to the Ministry of Construction reporting on the plan to deploy the resettlement area and carry out site clearance for the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis through Thanh Hoa province.

The high-speed railway project on the North-South axis through Thanh Hoa province is about 95.33km long (about Km113+800 - Km209+130) passing through 18 communes and wards, including: Bim Son Ward, Quang Trung Ward, Hoat Giang Commune, Ha Trung Commune; Trieu Loc Commune, Hoang Phu Commune, Hoang Giang Commune, Ham Rong Ward, Dong Tien Ward, Dong Son Ward, Dong Quang Ward, Trung Chinh Commune, Thang Loi Commune, Nong Cong Commune, Thang Binh Commune, Cong Chinh Commune, Truc Lam Ward and Truong Lam Commune. Accordingly, the project is expected to affect more than 572 hectares of land, including nearly 92 hectares of residential land. The total number of households that need to be relocated is 2,107 households, along with 41 public works and production and business establishments.

In order to meet the resettlement needs of affected households, Thanh Hoa province is investing in building infrastructure for 39 resettlement areas in 16 communes and wards with a total area of about 300 hectares. The investment cost for the 39 resettlement areas is up to 3,873 billion VND. Currently, 1 resettlement area in My Phong village (Cong Chinh commune) has completed infrastructure; 8 other areas have had their designs approved and are clearing the land; one area is preparing an investment project, 28 areas are making detailed plans and one area in Trung Chinh commune is collecting people's opinions on the construction location.

The section through Bim Son ward will have 1 resettlement area with a scale of 3 hectares, with an estimated construction cost of about 50 billion VND. The section through Ha Trung commune will have 5 resettlement areas with a scale of 24.64 hectares, with an estimated construction cost of about 244.9 billion VND. The section through Trieu Loc commune will have 2 resettlement areas with a scale of 15.8 hectares, with an estimated construction cost of about 157 billion VND....

Mr. Mai Xuan Liem - Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee requested localities to urgently review the exact area of affected land, the number of households that need to be resettled, and the affected public works to determine the scale and number of resettlement areas that need investment. All review results must be sent to the Department of Construction and the Department of Agriculture and Environment of the province before July 11 for synthesis and submission to the Provincial People's Committee.
