Tran Khat Chan High School (Zone 1, Vinh Loc Town, Vinh Loc District, Thanh Hoa) was established in 2001. The school has an area of ​​about 7,500m2, including a 3-storey building, a principal's office, a library and many other facilities, meeting the teaching and learning needs of over 1,500 students in the area. In the peak school year, the school has nearly 1,600 students in grades 10, 11 and 12.

In 2018, Tran Khat Chan High School, along with several other high schools in Thanh Hoa, had to merge and dissolve due to a decrease in the number of students. However, since then, Tran Khat Chan High School has been abandoned, with damaged facilities and unused, which is a huge waste.

Our observations in early May 2025 showed that many areas of the school were sinking.

Even the railings on the 2nd and 3rd floors have broken, the outer walls are peeling, and are at risk of collapsing at any time.

Many people feel regretful about the deterioration and damage of Tran Khat Chan High School. "A school with spacious facilities and a beautiful location but abandoned for many years is a great waste," said Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, a resident living near the school.

Mr. Pham Quoc Thanh, Chairman of Vinh Loc District People's Committee, said that Tran Khat Chan High School was dissolved in 2018. In 2019, the local government organized an auction of assets associated with this school. Currently, this land is privately managed.

It is known that not only Tran Khat Chan High School, many other schools in Thanh Hoa after the merger and dissolution were also abandoned, causing great waste.
