(Baothanhhoa.vn) - The conference to meet and connect businesses between Seongnam City (Korea) and Thanh Hoa Province is an important event, aiming to promote substantive economic cooperation, creating a foundation for new developments in investment, trade and tourism between Thanh Hoa Province and Seongnam City - the leading high-tech center of Korea.

On the afternoon of June 20, at Central Hotel ( Thanh Hoa City), Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee coordinated with Seongnam City government (Korea) to organize a conference to meet and connect businesses between the two localities.

Attending the conference, on behalf of Thanh Hoa province's leaders, there were comrades: Nguyen Van Thi, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Quang Hai, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.

The event was attended by more than 150 delegates representing departments, branches, business associations and typical enterprises from both sides.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, comrade Nguyen Van Thi, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: "This is a meaningful activity to strengthen the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Thanh Hoa province and Seongnam city, especially in the context of the two localities moving towards green, sustainable and innovative development."

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed: Seongnam City is a dynamically developing urban area, a leading high-tech center in Korea. Thanh Hoa identifies this as a strategic partner in the process of attracting investment according to the Provincial Development Plan to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

In that spirit, Thanh Hoa province calls on Korean enterprises and investors to pay attention and explore investment opportunities in priority areas such as processing and manufacturing industries with a focus on plastic production, petrochemical refining, food processing, advanced construction materials, electrical and electronic components, electric vehicles and auto parts.

High-tech agriculture , aiming at large-scale, safe production models, applying modern technology in aquaculture, offshore fishing, developing wood and bamboo raw material areas associated with export processing.

Tourism sector, especially beach resorts, eco-tourism, spiritual tourism and heritage tourism; encourage investment in high-end, high-quality entertainment areas.

The health sector, with priority given to developing non-public hospitals in the form of joint ventures and public-private partnerships. At the same time, promoting investment in R&D, production of high-tech medical equipment, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.

In the field of urbanization and infrastructure, focusing on upgrading roads, seaports, airports, water supply and treatment systems, renewable energy and developing smart cities and e-government.

The Standing Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee shared: Thanh Hoa is emerging as one of the dynamic economic centers of the North Central region, with an increasingly improved investment environment.

The province pledges to continue promoting administrative reforms, strongly improving the investment and business environment in a more open and transparent manner; at the same time, investing in upgrading socio-economic infrastructure; reducing market entry costs for businesses; enhancing human resource training; ensuring security, order and social safety, in order to create favorable conditions for businesses to confidently invest, produce and do business in the province.

With the motto “Business success contributes to the success of the province”, Thanh Hoa province commits to be a reliable and long-term partner of Korean investors; always accompanying, supporting and creating the most favorable conditions for Korean investors to deploy production and business activities in the province.

At the same time, we also hope that Seongnam City and other localities of Korea will create favorable conditions for investors and enterprises of Thanh Hoa province to have the opportunity to expand their market and find partners in Korea.

Attending and speaking at the conference, Mr. Shin Sang Jin, Mayor of Seongnam City expressed his hope for the strategic cooperation relationship between the two localities: "Seongnam is the center of high-tech industries such as ICT, bio-medicine, AI, smart city. Today, 14 leading enterprises of the city come here not only with the spirit of exchange, but also to seek opportunities for substantive cooperation."

The Mayor of Seongnam City highly appreciated Thanh Hoa Province’s potential for industrial development with its strategic geographical location, abundant human resources and rapid industrialization. “Through today’s introduction, I hope that businesses from both sides will understand each other’s industrial environment and strengths, thereby seeking specific investment and cooperation opportunities. Seongnam City will continue to support the exchange between businesses and Thanh Hoa Province, not only stopping at diplomatic visits but also achieving practical results such as joint technology development, human resource exchange, and local market penetration,” Seongnam City Mayor Shin Sang Jin emphasized.

Currently, South Korea is the leading country in the number of FDI projects in Thanh Hoa, with 44 projects and a total investment capital of more than 1.65 billion USD. Many typical projects such as Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant, THN Autoparts Factory, garment and electronics factories... are operating effectively, making important contributions to the local budget and creating tens of thousands of jobs.

In addition, the Korean Government and non-governmental organizations have provided tens of millions of USD in aid for ODA and non-profit projects in Thanh Hoa, in areas such as health, education, environment, vocational training, etc.

Opportunity to expand comprehensive cooperation

At the content session, delegates exchanged information on the needs and opportunities for cooperation, and proposed solutions to promote practical and effective relations between Thanh Hoa province and Seongnam city in the coming time.

Within the framework of the content session, Director of VCCI Thanh Hoa - Ninh Binh Do Dinh Hieu emphasized the importance of substantial business connections, and proposed diverse cooperation methods such as joint ventures, public-private partnerships, technology transfer, two-way trade promotion, etc.

Representative of TCE Jeans Co., Ltd. - a Korean company that is investing effectively in Thanh Hoa shared experience in project implementation, favorable investment environment and enthusiastic support from local authorities.

Some large enterprises of Thanh Hoa province such as Hop Luc Joint Stock Corporation and ADVTV Digital Media Joint Stock Company also presented presentations introducing their products, production capacity and their desire to find Korean partners in the fields of healthcare, information technology, digital media, etc.

At the business connection session co-chaired by the Provincial Business Association, VCCI Thanh Hoa - Ninh Binh and Seongnam Industrial Promotion Agency, nearly 20 business pairs participated in direct dialogue, exchanged information, and proposed cooperation models. At the same time, specific issues were discussed such as opening an export channel for Thanh Hoa agricultural products to the Korean supermarket system; linking training and recruiting IT engineers; developing green, high-tech industrial parks in line with the planning orientation of both sides.
