On September 1st, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province held a ceremony to receive a bronze drum donated by the Thanh Hoa Cultural Heritage and Antiquities Association (Thanh Hoa province).
At the ceremony, the association handed over a large bronze drum, a small bronze drum, and a 68cm long sword, plated with 24K gold.
The two bronze drums depict numerous images associated with the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh and key milestones of the revolution.
The sword was crafted to resemble the sword of Lady Trieu - a national treasure currently on display at the Thanh Hoa Museum.
This is part of the "Journey of Bronze Drums Following in Uncle Ho's Footsteps" project of the Thanh Hoa Cultural Heritage and Antiquities Association, donated in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.
The artifacts will be displayed at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area and the Ca Mau Provincial Museum (An Xuyen Ward).

Speaking at the ceremony, the leader of Ca Mau province expressed gratitude and emphasized that the gift of the bronze drum has profound significance, demonstrating friendship, solidarity, and cultural exchange between the two regions despite their geographical distance.
Provincial leaders requested relevant units to preserve, display, and regularly disseminate information so that the younger generation can better understand the cultural and historical value of the bronze drums, as well as the connection between Thanh Hoa and Ca Mau.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province awarded certificates of merit to one collective and four individuals for their achievements in the program of casting and donating bronze drums.
Prior to the handover ceremony, the delegation from the Thanh Hoa Cultural Heritage and Antiquities Association, along with provincial leaders, offered incense at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area (An Xuyen ward).
