Establishment of the new Lam Dong province with the largest area in the country

The new Lam Dong province was established on the basis of merging Lam Dong, Binh Thuan and Dak Nong provinces. Together with other localities in the country, the new Lam Dong province officially came into operation on July 1, 2025.

On June 30, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province held a ceremony to announce the Resolutions and Decisions of the Central and local governments on merging provincial and commune-level administrative units, ending the operation of district-level administrative units, establishing Party organizations, appointing Party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Lam Dong province, communes, wards, and special zones.

At the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Thuy Anh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee, announced the resolutions and decisions of the Central Committee on merging provincial administrative units, establishing Party organizations, appointing Party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Lam Dong province.

The newly launched Lam Dong Provincial Party Executive Committee consists of 95 comrades.

Accordingly, the new Lam Dong province has a natural area of ​​24,233.07 ^km2 , a population of more than 3.8 million people, with 124 communes, wards and special zones. The new Lam Dong province will border the provinces of Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Cambodia and the East Sea. The political and administrative center of the new Lam Dong province is located in Da Lat city of the current Lam Dong province.

According to the announced decisions, Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee was established on the basis of merging 3 provincial Party Committees: Lam Dong, Binh Thuan , Dak Nong. The Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee consists of 95 comrades, the Standing Committee consists of 29 comrades.

The Standing Committee of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee includes comrades: Comrade Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Delegation of the 15th National Assembly of Lam Dong province; Comrade Nguyen Hoai Anh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term; Comrade Tran Chi Tran Hong Thai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council for the 2021 - 2026 term; Comrade Ho Van Muoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term.
