In recent days, a lot of information has been spread on social networks about the high price of collecting and transporting household waste in Vung Tau Ward, Ho Chi Minh City without prior notice to the people. Accordingly, some people's reflections said that after the province's merger, the household waste collection fee increased from 50,000 VND to 70,000 VND/month.

Before that information, the People's Committee of Vung Tau ward had official information and confirmed that the collection level is still maintained according to State regulations.

Specifically, the People's Committee of Vung Tau Ward issued Official Dispatch No. 46/TB-UBND specifically announcing the price of collecting and transporting household waste.

According to Decision No. 26/2019/QD-UBND of the People's Committee of the old Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the current collection rates include: VND 50,000/month for households; VND 25,000/month for households in rented houses; VND 100,000/month for small businesses; VND 200,000/month for headquarters of agencies, administrative and public service units; from VND 210,000-460,000/ton or m3 for enterprises, production establishments, service businesses, restaurants, hotels, markets, bus stations, hospitals... Collection time is from 6:00 p.m. the previous day to 6:00 a.m. the next day. This is the price applied from October 15, 2019 to present and has not changed.

The Ward People's Committee requires the collection unit to collect on time, at the right price, provide full invoices and receipts to waste source owners and absolutely not to arbitrarily collect excess without agreement with residents or businesses.

Vung Tau ward leaders also affirmed that they will receive feedback and strictly handle cases of arbitrarily raising household waste collection prices beyond the prescribed level.

After the merger, Vung Tau Ward has an area of 16.86km2, currently a ward with a population of 117,413 people. This is a coastal ward, so tourism in the new Ho Chi Minh City is strongly developed. In the ward, there are many restaurants, hotels, eateries and many entertainment areas./.
