On July 20, the Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the Red Journey Program, organized a blood donation event. This is an activity within the framework of the charity program “Good deeds from the heart.”

Speaking at the program, Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consulate General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, said that the charity program "Good deeds from the heart" originated from the noble wish of the King of Thailand, who always cares deeply about the happiness and welfare of all people.

The program aims to spread the spirit of sharing and encourage the community to actively contribute to the common development of society and the country.

The Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City wishes to realize that wish through specific and practical actions in Vietnam - a friendly neighboring country where the Thai community is living and working.

The blood donation activity is not only an opportunity for the Thai community in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities in the consular area to join hands with the Vietnamese people to carry out charitable works and contribute meritorious deeds on this important occasion, but also a practical action to support the blood bank of the Vietnam Red Cross Society; at the same time, it shows gratitude to Vietnam where the Thai community always receives a warm welcome.

“This is also a vivid demonstration of the close friendship between the two countries, not only at the Government level but also spreading strongly among the business community and people of both sides. The spirit of volunteering blood donation is a concrete expression of the noble idea of the King of Thailand, towards the common benefit of all humanity,” said Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khoi, Deputy Head of the Central Red Journey Organizing Committee, said that voluntary blood donation has long been a noble act, demonstrating the spirit of compassion and sharing in the community. In recent years, especially in the summer - the peak time for blood demand - this activity has become more practical.

The program not only contributes to supplementing blood supply for emergency and treatment work, but is also an opportunity to strengthen the friendly relationship between Vietnam and Thailand, strongly spreading the message "A drop of blood given - A life left behind."

Participating in this blood donation, Panthipa Chaisiri (23 years old), a Thai volunteer living and working in Ho Chi Minh City, shared: “Blood donation is a meaningful activity not only for the recipient but also for the community. I feel proud to contribute a small part to help those in need, while also demonstrating the solidarity between the people of Thailand and Vietnam. I hope that activities like this will be spread more widely, so that the Thai community will have more opportunities to contribute to society as well as strengthen the connection and sharing with the Vietnamese people.”

Over the years, the Red Journey Program, the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam have coordinated with the Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to periodically organize blood donation activities for the community in July and December every year.

In addition to the blood donation activity, the program also has other activities such as a cycling parade to launch the humanitarian blood donation program; Humanitarian Blood Donation Activity with volunteers from the Thai community in the consular area and Vietnamese people participating in registering to donate blood./.
