On the evening of June 4, speaking with VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Tran Viet Dung, a teacher at Nam Dan 2 High School (Nam Dan district, Nghe An ) confirmed that his statement during his exam invigilation duty: "Why study so much, you will still have to work for hire, as a worker" and was posted on social networks by parents was true.

According to Mr. Tran Viet Dung, the incident happened late in the morning of June 3, during the Literature exam at the Nam Dan 2 High School exam site. "At that time, there were about 10 minutes left until the end of the Literature exam. Some candidates came up to ask for exam papers to continue doing the test. I joked with the second exam supervisor, 'Why study so much, you'll end up working for hire'. I did not discuss it with any students and do not know why the students heard it," said Mr. Dung.

According to Mr. Tran Viet Dung, after this incident, the examination board asked him to write a report, and he is waiting for how it will be handled.

According to the leader of Nam Dan 2 High School, reporting to the school, teacher Tran Viet Dung said that he only discussed with his colleague when the candidate came to ask for more papers. He did not think that the private discussion with his colleague would cause bad public opinion. He asked to learn from his experience.

Previously, on the afternoon of June 3, on social media, a parent of a student in Nam Dan district reported to the Board of Directors of Nam Dan 2 High School that teacher Tran Viet Dung, who was invigilating the exam at this exam site, had inappropriate behavior and words.

According to parents, after the exam, students returned home feeling confused and hurt by the disrespectful attitude of an invigilator in the exam room.

The parent reported that teacher Tran Viet Dung, while performing his exam invigilation duties, had used contemptuous words towards students. When a candidate asked for more exam papers, instead of supporting or encouraging him, teacher D said: "Why study so much, you will end up working for hire or as a factory worker."

Not only that, when the teacher in the same room signed the student's paper, teacher Dung sarcastically said: "Love your job, huh?"

“Children are at a very sensitive age, every word, look, and attitude of teachers can deeply affect their psychology and belief in school andeducation . Even though students may not get high scores or fail to pass the entrance exam to a top school, they deserve to be respected and encouraged, not be looked down upon and judged with prejudiced statements,” this parent wrote.

Regarding the above incident, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan, Chief of Office of Nghe An Department of Education and Training, said that after receiving feedback from parents, the Examination Council of Nam Dan 2 High School verified and suspended the exam supervision work of teacher Tran Viet Dung in the Math exam on the morning of June 4.

The Department also directed the Examination Councils in the following exams to seriously disseminate the examination regulations, which define the roles, responsibilities, and positions of the invigilators; during the exam process, always encourage students so that they can be comfortable and do well on the exam. The Examination Councils shall not assign teachers who do not meet the requirements as prescribed to perform their duties in the following exams.

Suspending the 10th grade exam supervisor who said "study hard and then go work for hire" In response to the reflection that the exam supervisor had disrespectful words for students during the 10th grade entrance exam, on the morning of June 4, the Examination Council of Nam Dan 2 High School suspended this teacher from the exam supervision work and arranged for another teacher to supervise the exam.
