On May 8, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City announced that it had just issued a decision to fine Hung Hoang Huy Trading and Service Company Limited - Delicate Hotel VND4 million for not reporting to the competent authority as prescribed.

The department also asked the four accommodations to contact online accommodation sales platforms to remove the false stars.

Risemount Premier Resort Danang Hotel, managed by My Khe Trading and Service Joint Stock Company (120 Nguyen Van Thoai, Ngu Hanh Son District), has expired its 5-star recognition according to Decision No. 357 of the General Department of Tourism .

Although it has been re-evaluated but has not yet met 5-star standards, this hotel still displays 5-star images on online booking sites such as Agoda, Booking...

Similarly, AlanSea Hotel Da Nang (belonging to My Khe Park Joint Stock Company) at Lot A6, Le Duc Tho Street, Son Tra District has never been recognized as a star hotel but has a 5-star symbol on online room sales platforms.

In addition, two hotels, Delicate Hotel (belonging to Hung Hoang Huy Trading and Service Company Limited, address 25 Vo Van Kiet, Son Tra District) and Haian Riverfront Hotel (belonging to Kim Thanh Hotel Service Joint Stock Company - Song Han Branch, address 182 Bach Dang, Hai Chau District) although not yet granted star rating, also display 4-star images on online room sales websites.

The inspection conclusion of the Da Nang Department of Tourism (now the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism) requires accommodation establishments to contact online room sales platforms to remove the star symbols and report the results before April 30.

However, on May 8, the platforms still show the star ratings of these accommodations.

The situation of displaying stars on online room sales platforms that do not match reality is also happening in many accommodations in Hoi An.

Tuoi Tre Online has reported this before, but up to now, many 3-star hotels still show themselves online as 4-5 star accommodations.

Speaking to reporters, representatives of these units explained that the star ratings shown on the platforms are... self-rated and suggested by customers.
