According to VEC's plan, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 (connecting to Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway) through Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai will be put into temporary operation from August 19. Therefore, VEC will collect fees for using Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway at the Ring Road 3 toll station with 6 toll lanes, in the form of non-stop toll collection (ETC).
The toll collection plan for Ring Road 3 toll station is as follows: Vehicles entering from An Phu through Long Phuoc (7km) will be charged as present; Vehicles entering An Phu and exiting Ring Road 3 (4km) will apply the open station and charge 4km.

For vehicles entering from Ring Road 3 to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, a dual station model (open station and closed station) will be applied, in which Long Phuoc Station is a transfer station. When the vehicle passes through Ring Road 3 Station, the system will record 1 open station toll transaction (Ring Road 3 - An Phu, calculated at 4 km) and 1 transaction recording input information at Ring Road 3 Station.
If a vehicle enters from Ring Road 3 and exits at An Phu Intersection or Ring Road 2 (towards Ho Chi Minh City), the toll will be charged for the vehicle traveling 4 km (section Ring Road 3 - An Phu or Ring Road 2). If a vehicle enters from Ring Road 3 and continues to Long Phuoc toll station (towards Dong Nai), the toll will be charged for the vehicle traveling 4 km (section Ring Road 3 - An Phu or Ring Road 2) and at the same time, an input transaction will be recorded at Ring Road 3 Station, Long Phuoc toll station is a transit station.
In the case of vehicles traveling from Dong Nai to Long Phuoc Toll Station (HCMC), a dual-station model will be applied. Ring Road 3 Station will record both open-station transactions and be the exit of a closed-station. Therefore, if the vehicle goes straight to the Ring Road 2 or An Phu intersection, the toll will be collected as it is currently. If the vehicle goes out of Long Phuoc Toll Station and arrives at Ring Road 3 Toll Station, the vehicle toll will be calculated as 1 open-station transaction at Ring Road 3 and 1 closed-station transaction at Ring Road 3.

The toll collection at the Ring Road 3 intersection includes 8% value added tax, specifically as follows: For group 1 vehicles (vehicles with less than 12 seats, vehicles with a load capacity of less than 2 tons and public passenger buses), the collection is from nearly 9,000 - 103,000 VND/trip.
Group 2 (12-30 seat vehicles, vehicles with a load capacity from 2 tons to under 4 tons) fee is 13,000 - 155,000 VND/trip.
Group 3 vehicles (vehicles with 31 seats or more, vehicles with a load capacity of 4 tons to less than 10 tons, tractors without trailers or semi-trailers), the fee ranges from 17,600 to 206,700 VND/trip.
Group 4 vehicles (vehicles with a load capacity from 10 tons to under 18 tons, vehicles carrying goods in 20-foot containers) must pay a fee of more than 22,000 to 258,000 VND/trip.
Group of 5-seat vehicles (vehicles with a load capacity of 18 tons or more, vehicles carrying goods in 40-foot containers), the fee is about 35,000 - 413,000 VND/trip.
The 55 km long Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai, was put into operation in 2015. This is one of the expressways with the largest traffic volume in Vietnam, with an average of 45,000 - 50,000 cars/day.
