On September 29, the representative of the HCM City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board) said that the damage on La Xuan Oai and Lo Lu roads due to the impact of the Tang Long bridge construction area had been repaired.
Previously, from around the beginning of September, due to the impact of many days of rain, the existing La Xuan Oai road did not have a drainage system, leading to stagnant water causing damage to the road surface.
Specifically, the sidewalk of La Xuan Oai from the intersection of D2 High-Tech Park to Tang Long Bridge has deep holes, the asphalt concrete road surface is damaged, causing unsafety.

In addition, from Lo Lu intersection to Tang Long bridge, construction vehicles carrying materials in and out dropped soil, causing a lot of water to accumulate on the road surface.
In addition, at the intersection of La Xuan Oai - Lo Lu, the construction unit pumped water onto the existing road surface, causing frequent congestion during rush hour.
Many people have expressed their anger to the Thu Duc City Technical Infrastructure Development Center about the above situation.
The Traffic Department said that when the incident was discovered, it was patched with stones but could not be paved with asphalt due to continuous heavy rain, resulting in the road surface not meeting operating requirements.
Currently, the Traffic Department has carried out asphalt concrete paving to ensure safety.
In addition, for the area from Vo Nguyen Giap Street to Tang Long Bridge, the Traffic Committee has requested the HCM City Department of Transport to approve traffic organization for vehicles to move to the new road section to close the old road to serve the construction of the left branch road at the beginning of the bridge.
For the culvert location across Lo Lu intersection, because the intersection is the lowest elevation, the amount of water on Lo Lu Street accumulates, causing sand and soil to accumulate. The Traffic Department has dug a temporary ditch to drain the water and completely re-establish the road surface.
Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has repaired the damage during the construction of Tang Long Bridge.
Tang Long Bridge across Trau Trau canal is 231m long, including 2 branches, each branch has 2 lanes and sidewalks. The project started in late 2017 with a total investment of more than 740 billion VND.
In September 2019, the project was suspended due to land acquisition issues. The project was not restarted until the end of October 2023.
According to the expected schedule, the left branch bridge will be completed and opened to traffic by December 2024, then the old bridge will be dismantled and the right branch bridge will be constructed.
The project is expected to be completed in December 2025. Currently, the construction units are closely following the progress, the work of casting beams and producing bridge bearings has been completed and the installation of beams will be organized in October 2024.
