Krong Klang Town celebrates 20th anniversary

Today, January 2, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Krong Klang town, Dakrong district solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of 2/1 town (2004 - 2024).

Over 20 years of construction and development, the Party Committee, government and people of Krong Klang town have focused on leading the successful implementation of socio-economic development goals in each period. The economic structure has shifted in the right direction, gradually increasing the proportion of industry - construction, trade - services, gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture - forestry and fishery.

Up to now, the whole town has 403 production and business establishments/households. The average GRDP per capita increased from 1.5 million VND in 2004 to 46 million VND in 2023. 90% of the road system has been asphalted and concreted. 100% of households use the national grid; more than 96% of households use clean and hygienic water; more than 92% of households have and use hygienic toilets.

The system of schools, classrooms, clinics, and electricity and roads has been invested in relatively synchronously and spaciously. The movement to build a cultural life in residential areas, build cultural hamlets, and cultural families has received increasing attention. Education and training have undergone strong changes; health care, population, family planning, and children have received increasing due attention. Poverty reduction has been considered one of the key tasks of the Party and the government over the past 20 years.

The town's poverty rate decreased from 60.2% at the time of its establishment to 23.8% at the end of 2023. Policies for people with meritorious services are increasingly receiving attention.

On this occasion, Krong Klang town was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal. Many collectives and individuals received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and certificates of merit from the District People's Committee for their outstanding achievements during the 20 years of construction and development of the town.
