Pepper price today, July 14, 2024, in the domestic market decreased slightly in some key localities, trading at 152,000 - 153,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, pepper price today in Gia Lai is at 152,000 VND/kg.
Pepper prices today in the provinces of Dong Nai (152,000 VND/kg); Dak Lak (153,000 VND/kg); Dak Nong (153,000 VND/kg); Ba Ria - Vung Tau (152,000 VND/kg) and Binh Phuoc (152,000 VND/kg).
Thus, domestic pepper prices today decreased slightly in key localities, by 1,000 VND/kg. The highest pepper price was at 153,000 VND/kg.
In recent weeks, pepper prices have been gradually narrowing their price fluctuation range, trading around 140,000 - 160,000 VND/kg, the highest price range in the past 10 years. Pepper growers across the country are entering the new pepper planting season with high hopes of "a good harvest and good price".
According to Mr. Hoang Phuoc Binh - Permanent Vice President of Chu Se Pepper Association (Gia Lai), to ensure pepper quality and be able to export to major markets such as Europe and the US, pepper growers must meet basic requirements.
Specifically, one is not to replant on old dead pepper gardens, two is to choose land suitable for pepper plant growth, three is to choose good varieties, four is to intercrop rather than monoculture, five is to plant pepper on living pillars.
Sixth, you should build a mound at the base, not create a basin. Seventh, you should leave grass in the pepper garden, not clean it. Eighth, you should use sprinkler irrigation technology at the base or drip irrigation. Muntok white pepper price is 9,182 USD/ton, up 0.28%; Malaysian ASTA white pepper price is at 8,800 USD/ton.
Vietnam's black pepper price is trading at 6,000 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 6,600 USD/ton; white pepper price at 8,800 USD/ton. IPC continues to slightly increase pepper prices in Indonesia.
The organization commented that the pepper market had mixed reactions this week. Both domestic and international Indian pepper prices tended to decrease this week. Meanwhile, domestic and international Indonesian pepper prices recorded an increase thanks to the Rupiah.
