Ms. Nguyen Thi Lanh, owner of a shop on Dao Duy Anh street, said that sun protection and heat protection products made from cool, sweat-absorbent, UV-resistant fabric with elegant colors are the most popular choice.
The hotter the weather, the more diverse the designs of sun protection shirts for men, women and children become, and the materials also vary depending on the price.
Sun protection shirts made from cotton, linen, cool elastic, khaki, etc., are priced from 150,000 - 250,000 VND/piece; sun protection shirts made from UV-resistant fabric are priced around 300,000 - 400,000 VND/piece; one-piece sun protection shirts are priced at 250,000 - 350,000 VND/set; strapless dresses are priced at 150,000 - 200,000 VND/piece.
Along with that are sunscreen gloves made of elastic fabric, priced at 10,000 VND/short pair, 15,000 VND/long pair.
“In recent days, the store has been selling the most affordable sun protection shirts priced between 100,000 and 250,000 VND. These shirts only block the sun, not UV rays. In the past two weeks, I have sold about 30-40 shirts per day, double the usual amount,” said Nguyen Thi Lanh.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lanh, polyester, nylon, denim, and wool shirts have better sun protection than other common fabrics. Light-colored fabrics absorb less heat but have less UV protection than dark-colored fabrics.
