Recently, the weather has been extremely unpredictable, with alternating sunshine and rain, affecting people's lives and activities. On the morning of March 29, Vinh City experienced heavy rain in the early morning and at night. The rain and wind occurred at a time when people were going to work and students were going to school, leading to local traffic jams.

In particular, on the evening of March 28, in many districts in the West such as Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Quy Chau, Anh Son... suddenly there were tornadoes and hailstorms, fortunately there was no major damage to crops or people's houses.

In Ky Son district, hail and strong winds occurred in Muong Long, My Ly and Huoi Tu communes in the late afternoon for nearly an hour. In Pha Chieng village, My Ly commune, bordering Vietnam - Laos, according to Mr. Gia No Cho - Secretary of the village Party Cell, this was the first time hail had occurred for such a long time, the hailstones were quite large in size and in large numbers, so some households had their fibro cement tile roofs punctured by the hailstones, some trees lost leaves and small branches broke.

In Anh Son district, the tornado on the afternoon of March 28 broke trees and collapsed the corrugated iron roofs of some houses in Tao Son commune, and blew off the roof of a row of classrooms and a garage at Tao Son Secondary School. In Quy Chau district, hail occurred in Tan Lac town and Chau Hanh commune, while some other communes experienced heavy rain and thunder. Lightning killed a herd of 4 pigs belonging to a household in Chau Binh commune.

According to the forecast of the North Central Hydrometeorological Station, extreme weather phenomena will continue to occur in the coming time. People need to closely monitor the situation and proactively prepare and prevent to minimize the impact.

Specifically, from the night of March 28 to 29, the continental high pressure will strengthen weakly. By around March 30-31, the hot low pressure area in the West is likely to develop and gradually expand to the Southeast and form a low pressure trough. In the last 1-2 days, this low pressure trough will be compressed and gradually pushed southward by the continental high pressure in the North, which is likely to cause thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind, affecting human life, agricultural production, causing trees to fall, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.
In addition, it is forecasted that from March 31 to April 7, there will be hot weather in most localities in Nghe An , some places will be hot with temperatures above 26 degrees Celsius such as Thai Hoa town, Quy Chau, Que Phong... which can affect people's health and increase the risk of explosions and fires.
