(Baoquangngai.vn) - Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council, emphasized that the plan for rearranging commune-level administrative units will be subject to voter consultation and submitted to the Provincial People's Council for approval. Voter consultation is a crucial step in the process of establishing, dissolving, merging, dividing, and adjusting the boundaries of administrative units at all levels according to regulations.
On the morning of April 16th, Bui Thi Quynh Van, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council, presided over a conference to approve the plan for rearranging commune-level administrative units in the province.
Attending the conference were the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Dang Ngoc Huy; the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Hoang Giang; the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Dinh Thi Hong Minh; and members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and members of the Provincial Party Committee.

At the conference, the Director of the Department of Internal Affairs, Ta Cong Dung, presented the draft plan for the reorganization of commune-level administrative units in the province. According to the draft plan, Quang Ngai province currently has a natural area of over 5,100 km2 and a population of approximately 1.3 million people. It comprises 13 district-level administrative units and 170 commune-level administrative units. Following the central government's directive on reorganization, Quang Ngai has developed a plan to reduce the number of existing communes by more than 67.6%. The plan will be publicly presented for public consultation on April 20th.

Speaking at the conference, Central Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary, and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van stated that time is limited, while much work remains to be done. Therefore, all levels, sectors, and localities must urgently implement the steps regarding the reorganization of commune-level administrative units as directed by the Central Government, along with the reorganization of cadres and civil servants. "The plan for reorganizing commune-level administrative units will be subject to voter consultation and submitted to the Provincial People's Council for approval. Voter consultation is a crucial step in the process of establishing, dissolving, merging, splitting, and adjusting the boundaries of administrative units at all levels according to regulations," emphasized Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van.
