(Baoquangngai.vn) - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van emphasized that the Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units will be consulted with voters and submitted to the Provincial People's Council for approval. Consulting voters is an important step in the process of establishing, dissolving, merging, separating, and adjusting the boundaries of administrative units at all levels according to regulations.

On the morning of April 16, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van chaired the Conference to approve the Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units in the province.

Attending the conference were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Dang Ngoc Huy; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Dinh Thi Hong Minh; members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee.

At the conference, Director of the Department of Home Affairs Ta Cong Dung presented the Draft Project on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the province. According to the draft project, Quang Ngai province currently has a natural area of over 5,100 km2 and a population of about 1.3 million people. There are 13 district-level administrative units and 170 commune-level administrative units. Implementing the direction of the Central Government on the arrangement, Quang Ngai has developed a project to reduce more than 67.6% of the current number of communes. The project will be publicly announced for voters' opinions on April 20.

Speaking at the conference, Party Central Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van said that time is short, while there is still a lot of work to do. Therefore, all levels, sectors and localities must urgently take steps to reorganize commune-level administrative units according to the direction of the Central Government, along with taking steps to reorganize the staff and civil servants. "The project to reorganize commune-level administrative units will be consulted with voters and submitted to the Provincial People's Council for approval. Consulting voters is an important step in the process of establishing, dissolving, merging, separating and adjusting the boundaries of administrative units at all levels according to regulations," emphasized Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van.
