On June 9, the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee received a report from the Department of Education and Training (DET) on the implementation of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year, with suspicions of leaked English exam questions in the above exam.
Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Kon Tum province confirmed that the suspected leak of the exam questions was a leak of the draft exam questions, not the official exam questions.

Based on the investigation results of the Provincial Police, based on the scope of influence, the Department of Education and Training has proposed two options to advise the Provincial People's Committee on adjusting the 10th grade enrollment plan for the 2023-2024 school year.
Option 1: In case of small-scale leak of the general English exam, the Department of Education and Training will propose to cancel the results of the above students and handle them according to regulations, while still using the general English exam results to consider admission.
Option 2: In case of large-scale leak of the English exam, the Department of Education and Training will propose to cancel the English exam results in the entire province, based on the exam scores of two subjects Math, Literature and the results of 4 years of secondary school study for admission.
As reported by VTC News, on the afternoon of June 2, candidates took the 60-minute English exam for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year in Kon Tum province. By the evening of the same day, information appeared on social media that the English exam was leaked, along with a copy of the exam with similar content.
On the morning of June 4, the Department of Education and Training of Kon Tum province worked with teachers to create English exam questions.
At the meeting, Ms. PTH (teacher at Nguyen Hue Secondary School, Kon Tum City, one of the people who created the exam questions) admitted that a 9th grade student at Nguyen Hue Secondary School, who was taking extra classes at Ms. H's home, had taken a photo of the exam questions from her home printer.
Ms. H. admitted her mistake in letting students take photos of draft exam papers and affirmed that she did not copy or take photos of the papers for students.
Based on the above results, the Department of Education and Training requested the Kon Tum Provincial Police to investigate and clarify the individuals involved and the scope of influence of the leaked exam questions. From there, the Department of Education and Training will have a basis to advise the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee to consider and adjust the 10th grade enrollment plan for the 2023-2024 school year accordingly.
Immediately afterwards, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Kon Tum province issued an urgent document, directing functional forces to request investigation and strict handling of any violations in leaking 10th grade entrance exam questions.
The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year in Kon Tum province has 6,659 candidates taking the exam, with 3 subjects: Literature, Math, English. Students applying to Nguyen Tat Thanh High School for the Gifted will take an additional specialized subject.
