Information about Vietnamese currency and information about counterfeit money

The State Bank shall publicly and widely inform about the characteristics and ways to identify Vietnamese currency on mass media, the State Bank's electronic information portal or other appropriate means of communication. The Ministry of Public Security , the Ministry of National Defense and the State Bank shall coordinate and exchange information on counterfeit money appearing in circulation, methods and tricks of criminal activities related to counterfeit money in writing or other appropriate means to improve the effectiveness of the fight against counterfeit money and the protection of Vietnamese currency.

The State Bank and the Ministry of Public Security shall consider and decide on the public announcement of information on counterfeit money so that organizations and individuals can know and take precautions. The Ministry of Public Security shall consider and decide on the public announcement of information on methods and tricks of criminal activities related to counterfeit money. The provision and posting of information related to counterfeit money shall comply with the provisions of law. The Ministry of Public Security and the State Bank shall organize training and fostering of skills in counterfeit money and suspected counterfeit money appraisal for those working in counterfeit money and suspected counterfeit money appraisal under the management of the Ministry of Public Security and the State Bank. The Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense , the State Bank and the Ministry of Finance shall guide the organization of training and fostering of skills in recognizing real money and counterfeit money, information and dissemination of laws on counterfeit money prevention and control, protection of Vietnamese currency and related professional skills in counterfeit money prevention and control and protection of Vietnamese currency according to assigned functions and tasks. Regarding international cooperation in preventing and combating counterfeit money, the Ministry of Public Security shall preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of National Defense, the State Bank, the Ministry of Finance or relevant ministries and branches to develop an international cooperation mechanism in exchanging practical experiences, training and fostering professional skills in combating and preventing counterfeit money and counterfeit money crimes; develop and implement plans and measures to detect and combat transnational counterfeit money production, storage, transportation and trading lines. The State Bank, within its authority, shall decide on cooperation with international organizations, Central Banks or currency-issuing agencies of countries in exchanging and cooperating on solutions to prevent and combat counterfeit money and protect national currency; support training and coaching on recognizing real and counterfeit money; organize or participate in conferences, seminars or other forms of cooperation related to preventing and combating counterfeit money.
