I want to ask the government for help. I have received encouragement and a rescue contact number, so I will try to help as much as possible. Right now, my family is without electricity and lacking food. All I can do is send messages of encouragement. I hope everyone will be patient and strong."

SEA Games 33 Organizing Committee needs to act quickly

Severe flooding in Thailand, SEA Games Organizing Committee relocates one competition

As of November 25, the flood situation in Songkhla province, the venue for 10 sports at the 33rd SEA Games, is still very complicated. Since the 19th, it has been raining continuously. Thousands of people are still stuck in their homes, unable to move and facing hunger, cold, and power outages. Many major roads in Songkhla province are cut off, many passengers are stuck at the airport. The 33rd SEA Games Organizing Committee is urgently considering moving the venues for the competitions in Songkhla province, including Group B of the men's football tournament. Therefore, the U.23 Vietnam team can compete in Bangkok.

This decision could be made in 1-2 days. Thai media is unhappy with the delay from the organizing committee. Tuntat Vinitmanon, reporter for Thairath TV, shared with Thanh Nien reporter: "I wish all decisions were made faster. Songkhla should have been clear about whether the SEA Games would be canceled or continue due to severe flooding. This delay affects the plans of both Thai and foreign tourists, reporters and journalists. In my opinion, the competition plans in Songkhla should be canceled. Instead, the events should be held in Bangkok, Chonburi or Chiang Mai."
