Daily train routes include train DH2 departing from Dong Ha station at 5:30 a.m. and arriving at Dong Hoi station at 7:25 a.m.; and train DH1 departing from Dong Hoi station at 5:45 p.m. and arriving at Dong Ha station at 7:45 p.m.
The number of trains is expected to include seven soft-seat cars with air conditioning (64 seats/car), one electric service car, each train can carry 448 passengers.
Estimated ticket price is 184,000 VND/round trip ticket and monthly tickets will be sold depending on actual conditions.
According to a representative of Vietnam Railways Corporation , when the number of passengers increases, additional passenger cars will be added to carry about 960 people and ticket prices will be adjusted.
On the side of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, it agreed to direct relevant departments and branches to widely publicize information about the itinerary and train operation plan, mobilize and guide cadres, civil servants and employees to register their needs for rail travel, as a basis for the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company to arrange suitable and effective means and human resources.
After the trial period, the two sides will summarize and evaluate the actual effectiveness, thereby proposing optimal and long-term solutions.
The planned trial run of the new train after the merger of Quang Tri and Quang Binh is held in the context of implementing the Party and State's policy on reorganizing administrative units at all levels and building a two-level local government model, in which Quang Tri and Quang Binh provinces will be merged into a new administrative unit, Quang Tri province.
The new Quang Tri province's political-administrative center will be located in the current Quang Binh province. The new government apparatus will officially begin operating from July 1./.
