NBC on April 18 (US time) cited the 2022 federal income report of President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden. Accordingly, the current US president and his wife earned $579,514 and paid $137,658 in taxes.
"The above income level is down compared to the first year Mr. Joe Biden entered the White House - earning 610,702 USD" - NBC channel commented.
Specifically, in 2022, Mr. Biden received a $400,000 presidential salary, while First Lady Jill earned $82,335 from her teaching job at Northern Virginia Community College. The rest of their income comes from other sources such as investment interest, pensions, and book royalties.
The Bidens also donated about 3.5% of their income, or $20,180, to 20 charities, including one affiliated with US police unions.

According to the report, US Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband earned $456,918 and paid $93,570 in taxes, equivalent to 20.5%.
Their income includes $219,171 in salary from the US Senate for Ms. Harris, $62,870 from book sales, and Mr. Doug Emhoff, the US vice president's husband, earned $169,665 from his teaching job at Georgetown University.
The US vice president's family contributes about 5% of their income, equivalent to 23,000 USD, to charities.
Disclosure of personal income has been a tradition of US presidents since the 1970s.
Former President Donald Trump, however, broke with this tradition by refusing to release his tax returns, although he still filed annual financial reports with the Office of Government Ethics.
