Deputy Minister Hoang Xuan Chien met with the Director General of IISS

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Hoang Xuan Chien highly appreciated the role of the Shangri-La Dialogue in regional security and safety, affirming that Vietnam will continue to participate in the Shangri-La Dialogue, and at the same time suggested that the Asia Institute for International Strategic Studies strengthen research cooperation and academic exchanges with Vietnamese research institutions, including the Institute for Defense Strategy. The Director General of the International Institute for Strategic Studies agreed and suggested that the two sides discuss specifically to shape the contents of this cooperation in the coming time.

Previously, last night and this morning, on the sidelines of the 21st Shangri-La Dialogue, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien had many meetings with defense leaders of countries and partners to discuss ways to further promote defense cooperation between Vietnam and its partners.
