Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Ho Chi Minh City

(MPI) - During the activities of participating in the working delegation of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha in Binh Phuoc province, on December 14, 2024, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project, the section passing through Binh Phuoc province and announced phase 2, Becamex - Binh Phuoc Industrial Park; inaugurated and put into operation the automobile tire factory of HAOHUA Company Limited (Vietnam) phase 1.

Attending the ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; leaders of central ministries and branches; leaders of provinces and cities in the Southeast region; businesses and diplomatic agencies. On the side of Binh Phuoc province, there were Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ton Ngoc Hanh; Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Huynh Thi Hang; Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tue Hien; leaders and former leaders of the province through the periods; representatives of departments, branches, districts, towns, cities, and investors.

The Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway construction project, the section passing through Binh Phuoc, is invested by the Binh Phuoc Construction Investment Management Board with a length of about 6.6km, a design speed of 100 to 120km/h, with a total investment of 1,474 billion VND. Implementation period is 2024-2026. After completion, the project will combine with the North - South Expressway in the West, Gia Nghia ( Dak Nong ) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section to create traffic axes connecting the Central Highlands and Southeast regions, shortening travel time, transportation costs and ensuring traffic safety.

Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway is one of the eight national key transport projects, assessed by the Prime Minister as a strategic transport route, planned to connect with the Central Highlands through major industrial production centers of Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong towards Ho Chi Minh City, synchronously connecting with a series of expressways, seaports and Long Thanh international airport. The project has a total length of about 70km, of which the section passing through Binh Phuoc province is 6.6km, through Binh Duong is 52km.

The construction of the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway through Binh Phuoc province will gradually complete the expressway network according to the approved planning. Together with the North - South expressway in the West, Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section, it contributes to the formation of traffic axes connecting the Central Highlands and the Southeast and Southwest regions, creating an important traffic axis as a premise for the development of infrastructure areas along the route, improving connectivity, shortening travel time, transportation costs and ensuring traffic safety.

Regarding the automobile tire factory project of HAOHUA Company Limited (Vietnam): the project was granted an investment certificate by the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province in September 2023, built on an area of 43 hectares in Minh Hung - Sikico Industrial Park, with a production capacity of 14.4 million tires per year. The project will contribute to increasing the industrial proportion of Binh Phuoc province, promoting the development of other supporting industries.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that with the planning of being the new growth pole of the Southeast region, with a strategic geographical location, having convenient connecting traffic routes and playing an important role; being the gateway connecting, exchanging the region's economy, culture and society with the Central Highlands and Cambodia - Laos - Thailand, Binh Phuoc is attracting the attention of investors.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha affirmed that the Government will commit to creating a favorable legal environment, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises in any case; always accompanying enterprises, overcoming difficulties and challenges for stable and long-term development, in the spirit of "harmonious benefits, shared risks".
