This morning, October 20, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep sent a document to the Director of Hoa Binh Hydropower Company directing the opening of one bottom spillway gate of Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir.

According to the dispatch, at 7:00 a.m. this morning, the upstream water level of Hoa Binh Lake was at 116.84 m and the downstream water level was 8.69 m, with a flow to the lake of 3,244 m ³ / second, and a total flow to the downstream of 964 m ³ / second.

Leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requested the Director of Hoa Binh Hydropower Company to open 1 bottom spillway gate of Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir from 11:00 a.m. on October 20.

Immediately after the telegram, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep also signed a document to send to the People's Committees of the following provinces and cities: Phu Tho, Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, requesting to immediately notify authorities at all levels, people, organizations operating on rivers and along rivers... about the release of water from hydroelectric reservoirs; at the same time, review and ensure the safety of works under construction, proactively take preventive measures to ensure the safety of people and property.
