Open 1 bottom spillway gate of Hoa Binh hydroelectric reservoir

This morning, October 20, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep sent a document to the Director of Hoa Binh Hydropower Company directing the opening of one bottom spillway gate of Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir.

According to the official dispatch, at 7:00 AM this morning, the upstream water level of Hoa Binh reservoir was at an elevation of 116.84m and the downstream water level was 8.69m, with an inflow into the reservoir of 3,244 ^m³ /second and a total outflow to the downstream of 964 ^m³ /second.

Leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requested the Director of Hoa Binh Hydropower Company to open one bottom sluice gate of the Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir from 11:00 AM on October 20th.

Immediately following the official dispatch, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep also signed a document sent to the People's Committees of the provinces and cities of Phu Tho, Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, and Ninh Binh, requesting them to immediately inform all levels of government, the public, and organizations operating on or along the river about the release of water from the hydropower reservoir; and at the same time, to review and ensure the safety of ongoing construction projects, and proactively take preventive measures to ensure the safety of people and property.
