According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , at the invitation of the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Government of the Republic of Turkey, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, will attend the World Climate Action Summit.
This is a conference within the framework of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28). Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will also conduct a number of bilateral activities in the UAE.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife will pay an official visit to Türkiye. The Prime Minister's working trip to the two countries will begin from November 29 to December 3.
COP28 will be an opportunity for parties to raise their voices, to protect the most vulnerable populations and remind governments of the urgency of accelerating climate action.
According to figures from Corporate Responsibility (CA), the European Business Observatory (CEO) and Global Witness (GW), the COP27 conference held in Sharm El-Sheikh (Egypt) recorded a record number of fossil fuel lobbyists. They included 636 people covering all issues from coal, oil to gas. Compared to COP26, this number increased by 25%.
COP28 will be chaired by Sultan Ahmed Al-Jaber, CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Corporation (Adnoc), who is also the UAE's special climate envoy.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Türkiye is of great significance. In 2022, the two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Türkiye will reach about 1.65 billion USD, but the two countries have strengths in bilateral relations.
At the ceremony to celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations held in October, the leaders of the two countries affirmed that Vietnam and Türkiye are actively coordinating to achieve the target of bilateral trade turnover of 4 billion USD in the coming time.
