Prime Minister: Vietnam is full of aspiration and determination to enter a new era

The Prime Minister said that entering the new year 2025, Vietnam is full of aspirations and determination to enter a new era - an era of national growth, prosperity, civilization and prosperity.

On the evening of January 13, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife chaired a party hosted by the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to welcome the Diplomatic Corps on the occasion of the New Year 2025 and prepare to welcome the traditional Tet At Ty 2025.

Also attending were representatives of the Party and State leaders; representatives of the leaders of Vietnam's ministries and sectors; Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam Saadi Salama, Head of the Diplomatic Corps in Vietnam, along with Ambassadors, Chargé d'Affaires, Heads of international organizations in Hanoi and their spouses.

Speaking at the event, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent his best regards and New Year wishes to the Ambassadors and Heads of International Organizations, emphasizing that 2024 was a challenging year. However, amidst the “headwinds,” peace, cooperation and development are still the main currents, the thread that connects us all, and the core common values ​​that all nations strive for.

For Vietnam, 2024 is a year of overcoming difficulties and aspirations to rise up. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, with high determination, great efforts and drastic actions, Vietnam has achieved a GDP growth rate of over 7% and continues to be a safe and attractive destination for international investment and tourism.

The macro economy is stable, inflation is controlled, major balances of the economy are ensured; public debt, foreign debt, government debt, and budget deficit are much lower than the allowable limit; national defense, security, and foreign affairs are maintained and strengthened; socio-political stability, culture and society are concerned; social security is focused on; people's lives are improved; the spirit of entrepreneurship, science and technology, and innovation is strongly aroused; strategic breakthroughs in institutions, infrastructure, and human resources have achieved very positive results.

Believing that diplomats living and working in Vietnam can feel the warm, sincere, friendly, trustworthy, and close atmosphere; the secure, safe, and stable environment; and the dynamic and creative development of the country and its people, the Prime Minister affirmed that these achievements, in addition to the spirit of solidarity and unity, efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges of Vietnam, cannot be achieved without the valuable companionship and assistance of international friends - Vietnam's sincere partners and friends.

On behalf of the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, the Prime Minister sincerely thanks fraternal countries, international friends, partners, Ambassadors, Heads of international organizations and through you to the Governments, peoples of countries and international organizations for placing their trust in and giving Vietnam close and effective cooperation and valuable support over the past time.

The Prime Minister said that entering the new year 2025, Vietnam is full of aspirations and determination to enter a new era - an era of national growth, prosperity, civilization and prosperity.

To successfully achieve the strategic goal of striving to become a developing country with modern industry and high average income by 2030; and to become a developed country with high income by 2045, from 2025, Vietnam sets a growth target of about 8% and double digits if conditions are favorable, creating momentum, force, and rhythm to achieve double-digit growth in the following years.

To realize that aspiration, Vietnam firmly adheres to a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization, being a good friend, a reliable partner and an active, responsible member of the international community for the goal of peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

On that journey, Vietnam hopes to continue receiving support, assistance and close cooperation from international friends, including Ambassadors and Heads of International Organizations, to develop the friendship and cooperation between the two sides to become increasingly strong, profound, substantive and effective.

Standing side by side with the international community, Vietnam will further contribute to peace, cooperation, development and solving common global issues, contributing to building a fair and equal international order based on international law, serving the common interests of humanity.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam will create the most favorable conditions for Ambassadors and Heads of International Organizations in Vietnam to not only fulfill their responsibilities well but also increasingly love the country and people of Vietnam; consider Vietnam as a close and warm home, as their second home, and join hands to build that home to be increasingly prosperous, happy and developing together.

Believing that although welcoming the New Year at different times, all nations share the same aspirations for peace, friendship, cooperation, development and a prosperous and happy world where no one is left behind, the Prime Minister believes that "Together we will overcome all difficulties and challenges; Together we will turn nothing into something, turn difficult into easy, turn the impossible into possible; Together we will join hands to build an increasingly better world."

In the warm atmosphere, filled with the colors of Spring in the Hanoi evening, the Prime Minister wished for peace, prosperity and happiness in the world; wished for the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and other countries and international organizations to be constantly consolidated, enhanced, developed, and blossomed, to bear fruit, to be forever green and everlasting; wished the delegates and their families and loved ones a Vietnamese New Year filled with good health, happiness and much success!

On behalf of the Diplomatic Corps, Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam Saadi Salama congratulated the outstanding achievements in socio-economic development that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have achieved in 2024, and the position and role of Vietnam are increasingly affirmed in the international arena.

Emphasizing that in 2025, the world will still face many unpredictable challenges, Ambassador Saadi Salama called on everyone to connect, show compassion, love, protect justice, fairness, dignity, promote dialogue on the basis of respect for international law, considering this as the foundation to resolve conflicts and challenges facing humanity; establish partnerships based on mutual respect for common goals.

Referring to the saying of Zen Master Man Giac, "Spring passes, hundreds of flowers fall; Spring comes, hundreds of flowers smile," the Ambassador said that for Vietnamese people, Tet is not only a moment of transition between the old year and the new year, but also an occasion for reunion and sharing the eternal values ​​of friendship and harmony. Therefore, let 2025 become a milestone of change, where every dream has the opportunity to come true, towards a powerful Vietnam on the eve of the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2 and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification on April 30.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Diplomatic Corps, the Ambassador would like to express his deep gratitude to the Government and people of Vietnam - friends who always welcome international friends with sincerity and hospitality; wish the leaders of the Party, State, Government and people of Vietnam a happy and prosperous New Year, continue to create breakthroughs, memorable marks, a new era, an era of the Vietnamese people's rise; wish the friendship between nations to always be strong; wish peace, love and hope to always be the beacon of light on the journey towards the future./.
