On the morning of November 26 (local time), within the framework of a working visit to the Kingdom of Denmark, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha had a working meeting with Danish Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities Lars Aagaard.
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha shared Minister Lars Aagaard’s positive assessments of Vietnam and the Vietnam-Denmark relationship; expressed gratitude to Denmark for its ODA support, contributing to Vietnam’s socio -economic development, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and requested the Danish Government to continue providing ODA support to Vietnam in priority areas such as environmental protection, climate change adaptation, etc.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Vietnam and Denmark have built a strong friendship and today Denmark is a pioneer in the fields of environment, climate change, green energy, a development model that many countries in the world want to learn from, including Vietnam.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha expressed his hope that Denmark will continue to share its experience in green development policies, thereby contributing to perfecting Vietnam's institutions and policies, helping businesses of the two countries have space for effective cooperation in the direction of innovation.
The two sides agreed to encourage and facilitate the business communities of the two countries to cooperate in technology transfer and investment in the fields of climate change adaptation, greenhouse gas emission reduction, energy conversion, digital transformation, and smart infrastructure construction in Vietnam.
Minister Lars Aagaard warmly welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha's working visit to Denmark, expressing his impression of Vietnam's socio-economic development in recent times and the Vietnamese Government's determination to achieve the goal of bringing net emissions to "0" by 2050.
Minister Lars Aagaard affirmed that the Vietnam-Denmark cooperation in the fields of climate change, environment, energy and green growth has been actively implemented and brought about practical results. Denmark will continue to cooperate with Vietnam to share experiences and advanced technologies necessary for the green transition and greenhouse gas emission reduction.
Sharing about Denmark's national target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 70% by 2030, Minister Lars Aagaard said that Denmark is implementing the global climate strategy "For a green and sustainable world" and synchronously implementing all relevant international policies such as foreign affairs, development, trade and climate to work with countries to encourage green transformation and global climate action.
Denmark and Vietnam will continue to promote, maintain the momentum of cooperation and strengthen the role of the Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals (P4G) as well as coordinate and support Vietnam to successfully organize the 4th P4G Summit in Vietnam.
