(Baohatinh.vn) - Workshop to promote energy saving and conversion solutions for businesses, towards green growth and sustainable development in Vietnam.

This morning (May 22), the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry - Nghe An - Ha Tinh - Quang Binh Branch in coordination with the Department of Industry and Trade, the Center for Financial Services and Enterprise Support of Ha Tinh province organized a workshop - training course "Cooperation to promote energy saving and conversion solutions towards green and sustainable growth for enterprises and industrial parks in Vietnam".

Overview of the workshop

The workshop was organized by the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), within the framework of the project "Promoting energy saving and efficiency in supporting industries and food processing industry in Vietnam" funded by UNOPS (United Nations Office for Project Services) and other sources.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Thuc - Deputy Director in charge of operations of VCCI-ITB Institute of Business Informatics delivered the opening speech at the workshop.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Trung Thuc - Deputy Director in charge of operating the VCCI-ITB Institute of Business Informatics, representative of the Project Management Board shared: Decision No. 888/QD-TTg dated July 25, 2022 of the Prime Minister on "Approving the project on tasks and solutions to implement the results of the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change" clearly stated that the task of VCCI is to mobilize associations and enterprises to actively participate in implementing the global trend of low-carbon development, mobilizing resources, innovating technology to shift the growth model, restructuring the economy , contributing to efforts to respond to global climate change, energy transition to fulfill the commitment to achieve net emissions of "0" by 2050.

Sustainable energy transition is becoming a key element in the national development strategy, aiming to reduce emissions, promote green economic development and fulfill long-term commitments. Vietnam sees the energy transition not only as a challenge, but also as an opportunity to shape a green, equitable and sustainable future for all people.

At the workshop, delegates were updated on current regulations and policies on energy; appropriate solutions for energy saving and efficiency; preferential financial solutions and support for businesses towards green and sustainable growth.

This is also an opportunity to connect the business community in the supporting industry and food processing industry with experts, consulting units, commercial banks, domestic and international investment funds to contribute to raising awareness and sharing information on initiatives in the field of renewable energy, using energy economically and efficiently towards green and sustainable growth for businesses.

After the workshop, businesses continued to receive detailed training on issues related to energy management in businesses and industrial zones.

To promote energy saving and renewable energy use in economic zones and industrial parks in the area, Ha Tinh is focusing on promoting solutions, orientations and support policies, prioritizing resources, towards a circular economy, with net zero emissions by 2050.

In particular, encourage and prioritize support for businesses that are at the forefront of using renewable energy such as solar power, wind power, and biomass power, in order to create momentum to spread throughout the economy. Encourage businesses to invest in modern machinery and equipment with high energy efficiency; replace old, energy-consuming production lines with new, more energy-saving technologies. In particular, provide preferential credit for businesses investing in energy-saving technologies; create online consulting platforms on efficient energy use and energy-saving products.
