On the afternoon of May 22, a working delegation of the Provincial People's Committee led by Mr. Phung Thanh Vinh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, inspected the site of the Project to Upgrade the road from the center of Mon Son commune to Khe Bung village, Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district.

Also attending were representatives of the Departments of Ethnic Minorities and Religion, Agriculture and Environment, Construction, Industry and Trade, and Finance.

The project to upgrade the road from the center of Mon Son commune to Khe Bung village was approved by the People's Committee of Nghe An province in Decision No. 1324/QD-UBND dated May 15, 2023, with a designed route length of 18.743km and a total investment of more than 62 billion VND. The scale of the rural road is grade B in mountainous areas, the roadbed is 4.0m wide, the cement concrete road surface is 3.0m wide.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Con Cuong district, the contractor is currently constructing the section from Km12+600 to Km18+743.51 with a length of more than 6.1km. Up to now, this section has completed about 98% of the volume.

For the remaining section from Km0+00 to Km12+600, which has not been implemented, the People's Committee of Con Cuong district requested the policy to adjust the project to suit the reality, because this route has many points that require lowering the height, affecting forest land.

The project has been allocated 100% of the planned capital from the National Target Program for Socio -Economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas. To date, the project has disbursed nearly 30 billion VND, reaching 47.74%.

The purpose of upgrading the road from the center of Mon Son commune to Khe Bung village is to ensure the safety of people, teachers, students... to travel smoothly, especially for rescue and relief work during the rainy and stormy season. In addition, it is to strengthen the development of mountainous transport infrastructure, accelerate the socio-economic development of Con Cuong district and ensure security and defense in the area.

Therefore, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Phung Thanh Vinh said that the proposal to adjust the project from Km0+00 to Km12+600 of the district is not appropriate, but the project must be kept intact and the excavation and lowering of the height of the necessary sections must be immediately implemented to ensure smooth operation of the road.

"Con Cuong district urgently develops a plan to submit to the province for approval to immediately deploy the remaining section to start construction soon," Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phung Thanh Vinh emphasized./.
