Promoting digital transformation in businesses to improve the competitiveness of businesses and the economy as a whole

(MPI) - Speaking at the Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation to support small and medium enterprises in digital transformation in the 2024-2025 period, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong said that, as a policy advisory agency for socio-economic development, the Ministry of Planning and Investment has actively proposed major policies in innovation, digital transformation and sustainable development based on the policies and orientations of the Party and Government on "Promoting digital transformation in enterprises to improve the competitiveness of enterprises and the whole economy", in which digital transformation is always one of the top priorities.

The Signing Ceremony between the Ministry of Planning and Investment and 5 technology enterprises within the framework of the Conference on Digital Transformation in Enterprises towards a Sustainable Digital Economy took place on October 8, 2024 to promote digital transformation for enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises in Vietnam. Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong emphasized that digital transformation, innovation, technology transfer and application are being identified by the Party and Government as top priorities, important driving forces to promote growth and sustainable development; and a decisive factor in enhancing national competitiveness in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution taking place strongly in the world . Most recently, General Secretary and President To Lam said: "Digital transformation - an important driving force to develop productive forces, perfect production relations for the country to move towards a new era".

As a policy advisory body for socio-economic development, the Ministry of Planning and Investment has actively proposed major policies in innovation, digital transformation and sustainable development based on the guidelines and orientations of the Party and Government on "Promoting digital transformation in enterprises to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises and the whole economy", in which digital transformation is always one of the top priorities.

In recent times, in addition to actively and effectively implementing issued policies, the Ministry of Planning and Investment has actively negotiated and worked with reputable technology units in Vietnam to build support frameworks and preferential solution packages specifically for small and medium enterprises within the framework of the Ministry's support, helping businesses minimize costs from consulting or digital solutions to improve business efficiency. Thereby, contributing to promoting pioneering in innovation, digital transformation; technology transfer from corporations and general companies, improving efficiency in leading enterprises and responsibility to the community.

According to Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong, the signing ceremony today is an important milestone demonstrating the companionship of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and large domestic technology enterprises in promoting digital transformation of enterprises; is the first step for close cooperation between the Ministry of Planning and Investment, technology enterprises and the business community to promote digital transformation for small and medium enterprises in Vietnam through supporting, deploying technology solutions and professional activities on digital transformation to help improve capacity, efficiency of operations, production and business, create competitive advantages and new values ​​for enterprises, promote digital transformation of enterprises, contributing to the development of the digital economy nationwide.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong hopes that the cooperation between the Ministry of Planning and Investment and enterprises will promote the digital transformation of small and medium enterprises quickly and effectively, contributing to GDP growth as expected by the Party and State.

Signing ceremony of memorandum of understanding with 5 technology enterprises with a total value of more than 33 billion VND (in which MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation donated a Digital Transformation Solution Support Package to 1,000 enterprises - Total value: 8 billion VND; MISA Joint Stock Company donated a Digital Transformation Solution Support Package to 3,000 enterprises - Total value: 7 billion VND; FPT Smart Cloud Company donated a Digital Transformation Solution Support Package to 500 enterprises - Total value: 5 billion VND; 1C Vietnam Company donated a Support Package for up to 300 enterprises when using Mini-ERP solution - Total value: 6 billion VND; CMC Technology & Solution Corporation donated a Support Package for up to 300 enterprises - Total value: 7 billion VND).

Sharing from the signing units, Mr. Bui Son Nam, Deputy General Director of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation, on behalf of the 5 signing units, thanked the Ministry of Planning and Investment for its attention and support in implementing the digital transformation task. At the same time, he emphasized that in the period of 2021-2023, closely following the policies and orientations of the Party and the Government, the program to support enterprises in digital transformation for the period of 2021-2025 of the Ministry of Planning and Investment has been implemented and achieved many good results with many synchronous activities and businesses have a clear shift in awareness of the necessity of digital transformation. This is also a positive sign showing that all businesses in all industries are ready for the breakthrough digital transformation step.

Mr. Bui Son Nam said that the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Planning and Investment and enterprises is an important milestone, marking the cooperation between state management agencies and large enterprises in digital transformation with the common goal of contributing to promoting digital transformation in enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises. MobiFone and the units committed to prioritizing resources to focus on implementing the contents of the cooperation agreement, supporting and promoting digital transformation activities for small and medium enterprises in Vietnam with practical support policies, specific and effective activities to help enterprises optimize their operations, production and business, create competitive advantages and new values, contributing to the development of the digital economy nationwide.

Mr. Le Hong Quang, Deputy General Director of MISA Joint Stock Company, affirmed that the signing of the cooperation marks an important step forward, creating a foundation for MISA to accompany the Ministry of Planning and Investment in promoting the comprehensive digital transformation process for businesses. This cooperation demonstrates MISA's strong commitment to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises nationwide to access advanced digital technology solutions, suitable for all needs, scales and industries. Mr. Quang also emphasized.

Accordingly, MISA will advise and support small and medium-sized enterprises to experience digital transformation solutions, especially the MISA AMIS unified enterprise management platform integrating artificial intelligence (AI) to increase productivity and enhance competitiveness. Through this memorandum of understanding, MISA will deploy digital transformation consulting programs along with many preferential policies for 3,000 enterprises with the goal of contributing to the sustainable development of the Vietnamese business community.

At the signing ceremony, the parties agreed and committed to building support packages on consulting and technology solutions to promote the digital transformation process of enterprises. This is also an important milestone demonstrating the companionship of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and large domestic technology enterprises in promoting digital transformation of enterprises.

The Memorandum of Understanding aims to further promote specific goals such as implementing activities to raise awareness of digital transformation for businesses, especially small and medium enterprises, through communication programs, conferences, and training workshops on digital transformation; Supporting capacity building in digital transformation implementation through training activities, guidance on the application of digital technologies, including testing platforms and solutions of units.

Committed to accompanying the Ministry of Planning and Investment in supporting part of the costs for businesses when purchasing and using technology from units; supporting specialized consultants according to the strengths of units at the enterprise, aiming to form typical successful digital transformation enterprises (enterprises are raised from awareness to support consultants to develop roadmaps, implement digital transformation plans and finally apply digital technology in the business process of the enterprise) as the goal set out in the Program to Support Enterprises in Digital Transformation for the period 2021-2025 of the Ministry of Planning and Investment./.
