On the afternoon of October 23, at the headquarters of the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital Vientiane, Mr. Vu Ngoc Ly, Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Luang Prabang, and his wife, presented the consular credentials of Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, to the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On behalf of the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Deputy Minister Anouparb Vongnorkeo received and congratulated Mr. Vu Ngoc Ly on being entrusted by the Party and State of Vietnam with the task of Consul General in Luang Prabang.
Deputy Minister Vongnorkeo expressed his belief that with his extensive working experience, Consul General Vu Ngoc Ly will continue to contribute to further promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
Deputy Minister Vongnorkeo emphasized that the northern provinces of Laos have great potential for economic development, agriculture, forestry and tourism, while maintaining close cooperation and sister-country relations with many provinces and cities of Vietnam.
He also expressed his hope that Consul General Vu Ngoc Ly would continue to promote his role as a bridge, calling on Vietnamese businesses to pay attention and invest in the Northern Laos region; affirming that strengthening investment cooperation will contribute to bringing practical benefits to both countries, helping to further tighten the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
Thanking Deputy Minister Anouparb Vongnorkeo for taking the time to meet him, Consul General Vu Ngoc Ly conveyed the greetings of Acting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung to Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos; and expressed his honor and pride in being assigned by the Party, State and Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work in the Northern Laos region - an important and meaningful task.

Consul General Vu Ngoc Ly said that the time he took up his duties coincided with the period when the two countries were preparing for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, which were historical milestones affirming the common destiny, solidarity and close ties between the two peoples in the cause of national construction and defense.
The Consul General emphasized that the tradition of "standing side by side, sharing joys and sorrows, fighting and winning together" of the two peoples is a priceless asset, vividly demonstrating the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos "which is unique in the world."
During his term of office, the Vietnamese Consul General in Northern Laos affirmed that he will do his best to play the role of a bridge, contributing to promoting effective cooperation between localities in Northern Laos and Vietnam, thereby contributing to fostering the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, Laos and Vietnam./.
