- On the morning of August 22, the Standing Committee of Lang Son City People's Council held a meeting to explain the current situation and solutions to improve the city's DDCI competitiveness in 2024. Comrade Nong Bich Diep, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council chaired the meeting.

According to the report of the City People's Committee, in recent years, the ranking results of Lang Son city according to the criteria of the Department, Branch, and District and City People's Committee Competitiveness Index (DDCI) have gradually decreased over the years.

In 8 component indexes in 2023 compared to 2022, 4 indexes decreased with a total score of 5.6 points (business time costs; informal costs; role of local leaders; land access and stability in land use).

To improve the DDCI index in 2024, the City People's Committee has proactively coordinated with the Department of Planning and Investment, the DDCI consulting group to organize training for all leaders and civil servants of departments, offices, units, People's Committees of wards and communes and held a conference to analyze and evaluate the DDCI competitiveness index in 2023; make a plan to improve the DDCI index in 2024.

Based on the annual DDCI results and comments, guidance and advice from the DDCI Group, the City People's Committee has proactively developed a plan to overcome limitations and a plan to implement the index groups in the DDCI Indicator Set.

In which, specific tasks and responsibilities were assigned to each department, office, unit, and People's Committee of wards and communes in charge of each specific group of indicators in each field. As a result, from the beginning of 2024 to now, according to the progress assessment, 2/4 groups of low-scoring indicators have completed the plan to overcome low-scoring content.

Concluding the explanation session, the Chairman of the City People's Council said that the explanation session achieved the set goals, frankly acknowledged and specifically assessed the shortcomings and limitations and had solutions to overcome low scores.

He suggested: The City People's Committee continue to resolutely direct departments, offices, units, and People's Committees of wards and communes to strive to implement the assigned targets; enhance the responsibility of leaders in directing implementation; include the results of implementing these indicators in the assessment of task completion and year-end emulation and rewards; strengthen propaganda work; proactively review the implementation progress, and have a plan to overcome low-scoring indicators from now until the end of the year to ensure the goal of improving scores in some component indicators as well as improving the ranking of the city's DDCI competitiveness index in 2024.
