The Provincial Party Standing Committee works with the Provincial Farmers' Association Standing Committee

This morning, February 6, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang chaired the working session of the Standing Provincial Party Committee with the Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association.

Reporting at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association Tran Van Ben said that in 2024, all levels of the association and farmer members were proactive, creative, and flexible in implementing the tasks of the association and the farmer movement. They achieved and exceeded the plan for 5/5 contents of the commitment signed with the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and 18/18 targets assigned by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association .

During the year, 36 new Professional Farmers Associations and 11 Professional Farmers Associations with nearly 1,700 members were established. 565 gifts worth 412.5 million VND were given to families of officials and farmer members facing difficult circumstances were given; mobilizing officials and farmer members at all levels to support the northern provinces in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 worth 875 million VND; construction and repair of 4 "Farmer's Warm Houses" were started for 4 members and farmers in difficult circumstances in Hai Lang, Gio Linh, Vinh Linh districts and Quang Tri town. The whole province has over 21,900 households achieving the title of good farmers in production and business at all levels.

Mobilized resources to support members and farmers to access capital for production and business development. Of which: through the Farmers Support Fund, over 28.2 billion VND with 797 households borrowing capital; through the Social Policy Bank, Agriculture and Rural Development Bank, LP Bank, over 2,700 billion VND with over 34,560 households borrowing capital. Coordinated with the Provincial Post Office to support and guide farmers to connect and consume agricultural products for members and farmers through the e-commerce trading floor with 2,210 farmer households having transaction accounts.

Promoting the achieved results, in 2025, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association set out 12 key tasks such as: developing a plan and effectively implementing the 2025 commitment of the Provincial Farmers' Association to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; focusing on effectively implementing the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses among members and farmers in the province; national target programs. Coordinate with departments, branches and localities in implementing a number of programs and projects on rural economic, cultural and social development. Organize and launch a movement of farmers competing in production and good business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty; carry out the construction of new rural areas, civilized urban areas and model new rural residential areas, model gardens; emulation movement "provincial farmers' association officials and members actively participate in economic development in agriculture".

At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association also requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to review and appraise the Project on perfecting the organization and operation of the Farmers' Support Fund; approve the project on organizing the apparatus and operation of the Provincial Farmers' Support Center, for the period 2025 - 2030 and orientation to 2035 in the direction of autonomy...

Concluding the working session, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang suggested that the Standing Committee of the Farmers' Association, in addition to its regular tasks, should focus on promoting its role as a fulcrum, supporting and empowering farmers in economic development; research and shift its focus to building policies to support livelihoods for farmer members who are still facing difficulties. Support and encourage farmers in production linkages to increase product value, especially in the field of livestock breeding, building concentrated livestock farms; mobilize the establishment of farmer cooperatives in mountainous areas to create sustainable livelihoods for ethnic minorities. Strengthen propaganda and mobilization work, promote the representative role of farmers in compensation and support for site clearance, especially in the implementation of key and dynamic projects in the province.

Requesting the Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association to immediately focus on reviewing and specifically counting farming households with difficult circumstances in the province and agreeing on allocating funds for the Provincial Farmers' Association to develop a support project with the goal of having no poor farming households with difficult circumstances by 2030.

Regarding the recommendations and proposals of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang agreed on the policy and assigned relevant departments and branches to coordinate with the Provincial Farmers' Association in implementation.
