Vietnam's No. 1 female tennis player Nguyen Thuy Linh had excellent matches to reach the quarterfinals of the Super 500 Indonesia Masters 2025 Badminton Tournament.

On the afternoon of January 23, Thuy Linh entered the 1/8 round of the women's singles of the Indonesia Masters 2025 Badminton Tournament with Malaysian player - Letshanaa Karupathevan.

Thuy Linh is having the most successful tournament since the beginning of 2025.

Thuy Linh ( world rank 32) although ranked and rated higher than Letshanaa Karupathevan, the number 1 Vietnamese tennis player had a difficult match.

In set 1, Letshanaa Karupathevan dominated from the start, but Thuy Linh caught up and took the lead with a relatively safe gap. By the end of the set, the difference in experience and fighting spirit helped Thuy Linh win 21-18.

In set 2, Karupathevan Letshanaa played better, forcing Thuy Linh to defend continuously. At the end of this set, Thuy Linh lost 17-21.

In the deciding set, the two players played fiercely. But Thuy Linh still maintained stability.

When the score was tied at 20-20, Thuy Linh pressed hard, scoring two important points in a row to win a thrilling 22-20 victory.

In the end, Nguyen Thuy Linh defeated Letshanaa Karupathevan 2-1 (21-18, 17-21, 22-20) to enter the quarterfinals of the Indonesia Masters 2025.

By winning a ticket to the quarterfinals, Thuy Linh has accumulated an additional 5,040 bonus points.

Thuy Linh's next opponent in the quarterfinals is Sung Shuo Yun, a Chinese Taipei player ranked 24th in the world. This match is scheduled to take place at 10am on January 24.
