Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg unexpectedly has a distinguished guest visit

At the meeting, the leaders of the leading Korean technology group and the leaders of Meta discussed strengthening cooperation between the two sides in the coming time.

Yonhap described Mr. Lee and Mr. Zuckerberg discussing ways to strengthen cooperation in technology and software, including artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality and augmented reality.

This is the second meeting between the two since early 2024. The last meeting took place when billionaire Zuckerberg visited South Korea in February.

Samsung Chairman Lee has just had a 2-week business trip to the US. On June 12, Mr. Lee visited Amazon headquarters in Seattle, Washington, USA and met with CEO Andy Jassy.

They shared their views on core business areas, such as AI and cloud computing.

Amazon is a leading cloud service provider and a key business partner of Samsung, the world’s largest memory chipmaker. The US tech giant recently announced plans to enter the creative AI market and innovate its cloud-based AI services with a $150 billion investment in AI data centers over the next 15 years.

Earlier this week, Mr. Lee also met with Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon in San Jose, California, to discuss increasing cooperation in the booming AI chip market.

Samsung and Qualcomm have long been close business partners with Qualcomm's Snapdragon platform powering Samsung's latest smartphones.

During his two-week visit to the US, Mr. Lee also met with many leaders of chip design companies to discuss measures to expand cooperation and develop new semiconductor technologies in the future.

Samsung said Chairman Lee's trip was aimed at strengthening its global network, as well as assessing the group's competitiveness and formulating a detailed business strategy.
