According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, during the 2025 exam period, the Northern region is forecast to experience intermittent sunshine, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening; the Central region will have sunny weather, with some areas experiencing hot weather, and scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening; the Central Highlands and Southern regions will have sunny weather, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening. These developments pose many risks and could directly affect the preparation and organization of the 2025 exam.
Faced with that situation, the Minister of Education and Training has just issued an Official Dispatch to the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces/cities on proactively responding to natural disasters during the organization of the High School Graduation Exam (Exam) in 2025.
According to the official dispatch, the Ministry's leadership requested the Provincial Steering Committee for the 2025 Examination to direct relevant units to proactively monitor and update weather information. They are to regularly and closely monitor the developments of rain, floods, thunderstorms, storms, and other extreme weather phenomena from meteorological and hydrological forecast bulletins of the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting and local authorities;
Maintain regular contact with the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue at all levels, relevant authorities, and local rescue forces to promptly respond in case of incidents.
The Provincial Steering Committee for the 2025 Examination directs relevant units to review, develop, and implement plans to ensure the safety of the Examination based on the "four on-site" principle (on-site command, on-site logistics, on-site equipment, on-site personnel). Specific attention should be paid to facilities; relocation and contingency plans; and the safekeeping of exam papers and answer sheets.
Relevant units must also ensure the safety of staff and candidates. Establish information channels with parents and students to manage, guide and support candidates to move to the examination site safely, minimizing risks due to natural disasters;
There is a plan and arrangement to support food and accommodation near the examination site for officers and candidates who live far away and have needs, especially officers and candidates who have to cross rivers, streams, ferries, roads at risk of flooding, landslides, etc. so that everyone can get to the examination site and take the exam safely.
Units need to organize cleaning, disinfection, and epidemic prevention. Urgently clean and sanitize classrooms immediately after the storm/flood ends to ensure safety, cleanliness, disease prevention, and readiness for the organization of the Exam.
