Continue to send cargo trains to "prevent drifting" of 2 railway bridges in Dieu Tri

On the afternoon of November 19, information from Vietnam Railway Corporation said that a unit under the Corporation had to dispatch a cargo train to "prevent the drifting" of two railway bridges in Dieu Tri.

Specifically, heavy rains lasting from November 17 in the Central region to Khanh Hoa have seriously affected many sections of the railway. In particular, from November 18, in Gia Lai province, heavy rainfall from upstream caused the water level at Luat Le 1 bridge (Km01+606) and Luat Le 2 bridge (Km02+729) to rise abnormally high, with strong currents, directly threatening the structure of the span and the abutment.

Faced with the urgent situation, Nghia Binh Railway Joint Stock Company (under Vietnam Railway Corporation) activated the emergency plan, blocked the Dieu Tri - Quy Nhon section and sent a freight train to protect the bridge. According to the technical plan, Luat Le 1 bridge consists of 2 spans, loaded with 2 sleeper cars, Luat Le 2 bridge consists of 01 span, loaded with 01 sleeper car, each car weighs 44.5 tons.

As floods continue and develop unpredictably, railway management units in the Central and Central Highlands regions are always focused and urgent, mobilizing maximum forces and mechanical equipment, coordinating with units in the industry and local authorities to overcome problems and restore train operations as soon as possible.
