At 11:00 a.m. today (November 19), the flood on the Ba River at Cung Son station rose to 38.15m, about 3.65m above alert level 3 (up 2.23m compared to 7:00 a.m. this morning), at Phu Lam station it was 4.53m, 0.83m above alert level 3 (up 0.59m compared to 7:00 a.m. this morning).

The flood on the Ky Lo River in Ha Bang rose to 13.63m, about 4.13m above alert level 3, about 0.37m lower than the historical flood peak in 2009 (14m). "In the face of this dangerous development, at 9am this morning, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting issued a level 4 natural disaster risk warning (very high risk) for the eastern part of Dak Lak province (formerly Phu Yen )".
This is a particularly dangerous warning level and is issued when a combination of major natural disasters such as floods, flash floods, and landslides can cause great damage to people, property, and infrastructure. It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, the flood on the Ba River is likely to reach the historical level of 1993 (5.21m). In the next 12-24 hours, the flood on the Ba River will fluctuate at a very high level and above alert level 3. Widespread flooding in the downstream of the Ba River basin," Mr. Dai warned.

According to a quick report at 11am this morning from the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention, floods in Dak Lak have flooded nearly 8,500 households (communes of Song Cau, Hoa Thinh, Tay Son, Tay Hoa, Xuan Tho, Phu Hoa 1, An Nghiep, Duc Binh, Phu Hoa 2, Tuy An Bac, Hoa Hiep). Authorities urgently evacuated 1,545 households with 2,341 people.
In Gia Lai, more than 10,000 households were flooded and more than 1,200 households with more than 3,600 people had to be evacuated. In Khanh Hoa, about 9,000 households were flooded. The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting forecasts that from today until the end of the night of November 20, in the Da Nang area, the east of Quang Ngai - Dak Lak provinces and the north of Khanh Hoa, there will be heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall from 100-300mm, locally over 400mm.
The southern region of Khanh Hoa has moderate to heavy rain with common rainfall of 60-120mm, locally very heavy rain over 200mm. Today and tonight, the Central Highlands region has moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 30-60mm, locally over 100mm. There is a very high risk of flash floods and landslides in the provinces from Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa, especially Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak.
