First victim found in landslide that left 3 people missing at Da Nang border

Mr. Nguyen An, Party Secretary of Hung Son border commune (Da Nang) said that at about 3:30 p.m. on November 19, the search team found the body of Mr. Hoi Zonut (born in 1977), then removed him from the scene and assisted his family in arranging the funeral.

As reported by CAND Newspaper, at around 9:30 a.m. on November 14, at the Azat stream area, Put village, Hung Son commune, a terrible landslide suddenly occurred, millions of cubic meters of soil, along with trees, from the high mountains, rolled down to the foot of the hill.

Authorities determined the location where Mr. Hoi Zonut's body was found.

The landslide buried 7 motorbikes, 4 houses and in particular, 3 people were confirmed missing, including Mr. and Mrs. Zoram Nho (born in 1997, Head of the Security and Order Protection Team of Put village) and Mrs. Briu Thi Tep (born in 1998), Mr. Hoih Zonut.

Due to the continuous heavy rains and high risk of landslides in Hung Son commune, search and rescue work encountered many difficulties and was even forced to be temporarily suspended to ensure the safety of the search forces.
