That is the affirmation of Mr. Nguyen Hong Duong - Head of the Propaganda Department of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee when evaluating the content and quality of the press works that won the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award of Quang Ninh province in 2023. Mr. Hong Duong said: This year, the quality of the works continues to be significantly improved.

The topics were selected richly and exploited from many perspectives, diverse in approach, reflecting the proactiveness, creativity, and pioneering spirit of Quang Ninh province in implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress, and resolutions of Party congresses at all levels; in protecting the Party's ideological foundation; in fighting against degradation in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party; in building the Party in terms of ethics and implementing regulations on setting examples for cadres and Party members, in conjunction with implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW dated May 18, 2021 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the 12th Politburo ; New, creative and breakthrough points in Party building work of Quang Ninh province for the 2020 - 2025 term, associated with outstanding results of Quang Ninh province in 60 years of construction and development.

“Many journalistic works have been invested in carefully in terms of content and form, and are highly general. At the same time, some authors have spent a lot of time researching and discovering new points and highlights in the process of concretizing the Party's guidelines and policies in the conditions of the province and each locality, deeply exploring practical issues, thereby creating journalistic works that are highly practical and have a widespread influence, creating positive effects throughout society…” – Mr. Nguyen Hong Duong emphasized.

Representatives of the group of authors of the People's Army newspaper and colleagues received the B Prize of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Journalism Award of Quang Ninh province.

The "resonance" that created the success of the season can be attributed to the efforts of the Organizing Committee. Because in order to continue promoting the results achieved in previous years, right from the beginning of the year, the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee focused on leading and directing the organization of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Building Press Award in a systematic and in-depth manner.

The plans, decisions, and guiding documents issued by the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee very early are an important basis for the organization of the award to ensure quality, create a pervasive influence, and promote a writing emulation movement on Party building in all aspects of politics, ideology, and organization throughout the province. Along with the attention and direction of the Award Organizing Committee, advisory and support agencies such as the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Information and Communications, the Provincial Journalists Association, and the Provincial Media Center also took drastic action, doing a good job of leading, directing, guiding, and mobilizing Party Committees throughout the province to actively respond to and participate in the award.

Party committees at district, town and city levels have issued documents directing implementation, guiding media and cultural centers to develop specific plans for participating in the Quang Ninh Golden Hammer and Sickle Award in 2023, assigning specific tasks to reporters to determine topics, columns, content, and develop plans to complete the work.

In particular, in order to improve the quality of information and propaganda in the press on Party building and the political system, in conjunction with improving the quality of works participating in the Award, this year the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department has opened a training course on journalism and propaganda skills on the topic of Party building and skills in writing news, articles and works participating in the 4th Quang Ninh Provincial Party Building Journalism Award - 2023 for 80 students from 20 local Party Committees. Along with professional training, the Propaganda Department also organizes a practical program for students to learn about Party building, political system building, socio-economic development, etc.

Thanks to early, drastic direction and methodical organization, the Organizing Committee of the 4th Quang Ninh Provincial Party Building Press Award in 2023 received 249 entries in all 5 press categories: Television; radio; print newspaper; electronic newspaper and press photo, an increase of 33% in quantity compared to 2022, an increase of 52% compared to 2021. Through these results, it can be affirmed that the Award continues to affirm its spread and attraction.

Bringing the poor border region and the Northeastern gateway of the country to prosperity

As a member of the jury - the Final Jury Council of the Award, journalist Do Ngoc Ha - Permanent Vice President of the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists Association said: "The 4th Quang Ninh Provincial Golden Hammer and Sickle Award continues to attract the attention of central press agencies with representative offices, resident reporters in the province, and many authors with multi-dimensional perspectives on Party building work in Quang Ninh. Not only are there works with high theoretical depth, but there are also many works that breathe life, contributing many beautiful stories that can only be reflected by dedication and truly "going undercover".

From that sharing, we met the group of authors Nguyen Viet Ha - Tran Anh Minh - Ngo Duy Dong of the People's Army Newspaper, who won the B prize with a series of works Border Guards (BĐBP) help people in the Northeastern border including 3 articles: Article 1: Connecting the Party's will and people's hearts; Article 2: Creatively helping people from models; Article 3: Uniting to contribute to a prosperous border by the group of authors... The work talks about the correct leadership and direction of the Party Committee, Command and the responsibility and dedication of the officers and Party members of the Border Guard of Quang Ninh province, contributing to realizing the Party's guidelines and policies, bringing the poor border area, the Northeastern gateway of the country, to prosperity...

To realize the motto " Only when people are well-off will the border be stable" , officers and soldiers of the Border Guard of Quang Ninh province have well implemented the "4 together" (eating together, living together, working together, speaking the ethnic language together), successfully building many effective mass mobilization models, such as: "Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard joins hands to build new countryside" , "Border Guard joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind" , "Accompanying women in border areas" , "Breeding cows to help the poor in border areas" , "Adopted children of border guards" , "Helping children go to school" , "Planting bamboo to protect the border" , "Giving flags and pictures of Uncle Ho to people in border and island areas" ...

The models have brought good results and contributed to beautifying the beautiful image of Uncle Ho's soldiers wearing green uniforms. By closely following the propaganda content and real life, journalist Viet Ha and his colleagues have chosen a very close and suitable topic. The award was received in the meaningful last days of the year, but when sharing about his working journey, journalist Viet Ha still had concerns and regrets because: "Our series of articles generally only partly reflected the work of the Border Guard at the gateway to the Northeast border. Through practical penetration, we also met many examples, many typical officers and soldiers of the Border Guard who were wholeheartedly responsible, always ready to put aside their private affairs to roll up their sleeves to do the common work of building a strong and prosperous border. The comrades have left a deep impression that cannot be fully highlighted within the framework of the series of articles...". The concerns of a responsible writer are truly admirable and will certainly create more motivation to continue having meaningful work trips and writing more valuable articles.
