At noon on June 6, the Ho Chi Minh City National University Competency Assessment Examination Council informed about the incident where the invigilator caused candidates to lose time during the second round of this exam which took place on June 1.
Specifically, on June 3, the Examination Council of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's Competency Assessment Exam held an extraordinary meeting to review and handle candidates' complaints that occurred at the examination cluster of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH).

Regarding the candidate's complaint that the invigilator did not allow the candidate to hold a pen to do the test in the first period, the Examination Council informed that the cause of the incident was that the invigilator mistakenly heard the bell ringing, leading to a delay in allowing the candidate to start the test.
The examination council determined that this incident stemmed from subjectivity and errors in professional coordination of the examination invigilators, affecting the rights of the candidates.
In addition, the Examination Council also informed about another incident at this examination cluster where a candidate reported not being given scratch paper, causing difficulties in the test taking process.
The reason is that the exam invigilators did not fully check the equipment and supplies according to the prescribed list, leading to not giving scratch paper to the candidates.
This error arose from carelessness in the performance of duties by the exam invigilators and this incident was not reported promptly to the examination council.
The Ho Chi Minh City National University Competency Assessment Examination Council assigned the examination cluster to contact the affected candidates. The examination council representative directly apologized to the candidates and supported them to overcome the consequences.
However, in the announcement, this unit did not mention how to support candidates to overcome the consequences.
The examination council also assigned the examination cluster leaders to be responsible for verifying the individuals involved, applying appropriate handling measures and reporting back to the examination council.
This representative said that the Examination Council is reviewing and improving the organization of the exam to prevent similar incidents in future exams, and is constantly perfecting the exam organization process in a more professional and effective direction.
As Dan Tri reported, after the second round of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment exam took place on June 1, a candidate at the HUTECH testing site "accused" the invigilator of causing them to lose about 30 minutes of testing time.
Specifically, according to the candidate's reflection, after the bell rang at 8:30, the exam supervisor announced that this was the time to read the questions and not to hold a pen, while in fact this was the time to do the test.
Although the candidates in the room spoke up many times, the invigilator in this exam room always confirmed that this was the time to read the questions.
At 9 o'clock, which was 30 minutes late, when there was a final reminder from the candidates, the invigilators asked and found out that the actual test time was from 8:30.
For many years, the Ho Chi Minh City National University's aptitude test has been the largest university entrance exam in the country in terms of both the number of candidates taking the test and the number of candidates using the results for admission.
This year, the exam attracted nearly 160,000 candidates to register for the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam. Currently, up to 110educational institutions nationwide use the exam results for admission consideration.
