Lam Dong province shows many positive signs in its first quarter of 2025 revenue collection. |
• EXCEEDING BUDGET BY 6%
According to the report, in the first three months of the year, budget revenue in Lam Dong province (under the Tax Department of Region XIII) reached VND 4,218.4 billion, equivalent to 31% of the projected target, an increase of 6% compared to the same period in 2024. Of this, revenue from taxes and fees reached VND 2,382.7 billion, equivalent to 30% of the projected target, an increase of 15% compared to the same period.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Anh, Deputy Head of the Tax Department of Region XIII, Lam Dong province achieved positive results in budget revenue collection during the first three months of the year due to the comprehensive implementation of various solutions. In the first three months, the tax authorities collected over 336 billion VND in outstanding taxes, fines, and late payment penalties (including 50 billion VND in debts carried over from 2024 and 286 billion VND in newly incurred debts). Therefore, the total tax debt as of March 31, 2025, decreased by 17.1% compared to February 28, 2025. Excluding the amount of tax debt currently under processing and the amount of tax debt under appeal or litigation, the total estimated tax debt as of March 31, 2025, decreased by 28% compared to February 28, 2025.
The Tax Department also issued 57 decisions to conduct on-site inspections of taxpayers; issued 53 decisions on handling matters after inspections and audits with a total amount of 7.1 billion VND in back taxes, refunds, and penalties, including 5.6 billion VND in back taxes and 1.5 billion VND in penalties; a reduction of losses of 9.9 billion VND; and a reduction of deductions of 0.8 billion VND. The amount already paid into the state budget is 5.1 billion VND. The rate of budget revenue collection after inspections and audits reached 72%.
The tax authorities issued 54 notices of temporary travel bans; issued 151 decisions on tax debt enforcement; and publicly disclosed information for 6,260 taxpayers.
Notably, state budget revenue from the household and individual business sector also achieved positive results. Total budget revenue in this sector reached 160.6 billion VND, an increase of 36% compared to the same period last year.
• BOOST REVENUE SOURCES
To complete the budget revenue targets for the second quarter and the entire year of 2025 in the province, in the coming period, the Tax Department of Region XIII will direct its specialized departments to focus on implementing new tax policies issued since the beginning of the year, in order to promptly support and accompany taxpayers; especially policies on reducing environmental protection tax, value-added tax, special consumption tax on domestically assembled automobiles and policies on extending the deadline for paying taxes and land rent in 2025.
Simultaneously, it is necessary to strengthen coordination with local authorities and commune/ward tax advisory councils to review and fully update the number, scale, and business sectors in the area; strictly manage cases of changes in business scale, cessation of operations, or new business starts; promote propaganda and guidance for taxpayers on using electronic invoices from cash registers; and inspect the use of invoices to prevent fraud...
In addition, continue to strengthen measures to collect and enforce tax debts, striving to reduce the amount of debt carried over from the previous year to 2025; monitor outstanding projects in the area that generate budgetary obligations; coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to resolve outstanding issues in order to promptly mobilize revenue from land use fees and land lease fees; closely coordinate with relevant agencies to monitor the situation of mineral resource exploitation in the province to require taxpayers to declare and pay taxes correctly according to the extracted output, especially for expressway projects, inter-regional roads, industrial zones, etc.
To increase state budget revenue in 2025, from the beginning of the year, Lam Dong province has implemented important solutions and policies to realize the set goals and raise the economic growth target.
