- Immediately after the Bac Khe 1 hydropower dam failure on Bac Khe river, in Tan Tien commune, a working delegation including Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep and comrade Nguyen Canh Toan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee were present at the scene to direct the response and remediation work, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.

At about 1:30 p.m. on October 7, 2025, the Bac Khe 1 hydroelectric dam broke on the Bac Khe river, located in Tan Tien commune. The broken dam was about 4-5m long and 3-4m deep. collapsed the central control room of the factory and damaged many equipment, with initial damage estimated at about 50 billion VND. Earlier, this morning when the phenomenon of cracking the dam body was discovered, the Provincial Civil Defense Command directed agencies, units, and forces to coordinate with Tan Tien commune to evacuate households in Bac Khe, Na Song, and Hop Luc villages in the downstream area affected to a safe place. So far, no human damage has been recorded. At the same time, it directed downstream communes such as That Khe, Trang Dinh, Quoc Viet, and Khang Chien to proactively develop response plans.

According to the initial assessment of the Civil Defense Command of Tan Tien Commune. Due to prolonged heavy rain, the water flow to the Hydroelectric Reservoir reached a peak of 1,572m3/s, causing a concrete slab at the water intake to break at the headworks.
