New feature on iPhone 15 Pro may have just leaked via iOS 17 beta 4

However, tech news site MacRumors dug a little deeper and discovered some code that could hint at a new feature related to the "Action Button" appearing on the iPhone 15 Pro.

The "Action Button" is said to replace the volume rocker on previous iPhone models.

Rumors of an "Action Button" first started circulating earlier this year based on leaked CAD files. And according to MacRumors, code in iOS 17 beta 4 has revealed nine features that the "Action Button" will offer on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

1. Accessibility: Perhaps users can access accessibility features with just one tap.

2. Camera: Launch the Camera app and/or take a photo or video .

3. Flashlight: Turn the flash on or off.

4. Focus/Focus: Turn focus on or off.

5. Magnifier/Magnifier: Enable this app to use the camera as a magnifying glass to enlarge small texts.

6. Shortcuts: Allows users to run any shortcuts they have created on their iPhone just like what happened with the Apple Watch Ultra.

7. Silent Mode/Silent Mode: Turn silent mode on or off.

8. Translate/Translate: Launch an application that helps translate conversations or text.

9. Voice Memos/Recording: Start or stop recording.

The "Action Button" may be a different color than the volume up and down buttons.

Although according to MacRumors, it seems that Apple will not allow third-party applications to take advantage of the iPhone 15 Pro's "Action Button", but if the Shortcuts feature is available, users can install shortcuts to be able to "bypass" this limitation.
