Welcoming and sending greetings from Ninh Binh Provincial Party Secretary Doan Minh Huan to the Cuban Women's Union delegation visiting Ninh Binh, Mr. Pham Quang Ngoc, Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, announced and introduced the potential, strengths, and socio -economic development situation of the province.
Ms. Teresa Maria Amarelle Boué, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Cuba, General Secretary of the Cuban Women's Union, spoke at the meeting where Ninh Binh provincial leaders received the working delegation.
Chairman Pham Quang Ngoc said that in developing the local women's movement, Ninh Binh province pays great attention to female cadre work. The proportion of female Party committee members, female National Assembly deputies and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term has increased compared to the previous term.
Ninh Binh province is among the top provinces in the country with the rate of female deputies in the 14th National Assembly, reaching 50%. The Women's Union at all levels in the province continues to promote its core role in women's work and gender equality.
Ninh Binh Province hopes that the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and the Cuban Women's Union will create conditions for the provincial Women's Union to participate and contribute to the implementation of cooperation plans between the Women's Unions of the two countries in the coming time, especially cooperation in promoting women's participation in politics, education, scientific research, supporting women in economic development, traditional education, fostering family values... to strengthen the special solidarity, friendship and deep cooperation between Vietnamese and Cuban women.
Ninh Binh provincial leaders took souvenir photos with the delegation of the Cuban Women's Union.
At the reception, Ms. Teresa Maria Amarelle Boué thanked Ninh Binh province for its special affection for the delegation. She agreed with the province's proposals to further promote the role of women at all levels of government.
She visited several models of education, training, and agricultural economic development associated with environmental protection. The information she gained was very useful when applied in Cuba. In particular, the “Women with the Environment” model, which is being widely deployed in Ninh Binh, has many similarities with the environmental protection strategy “Life Mission” in Cuba.
Ms. Teresa Maria Amarelle Boué said that Cuba pays great attention to the role of women in all areas of life. In particular, women's participation in government at all levels is always respected, as shown by the fact that 55.74% of Cuba's National Assembly deputies are women; many heads of People's Councils at all levels are women.
Ms. Teresa Maria Amarelle Boué hopes that in the coming time, Vietnam in general and Ninh Binh province in particular will continue to exchange and create conditions for Cuba, especially the Cuban women's movement, to learn more experiences in developing the Association's work, contributing to the socio-economic development of Cuba.
