TKV takes good care of Tet for workers

In 2024, despite many difficulties, Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) still completed the set tasks, with profits increasing by over 41% compared to the plan. This is the basis for TKV and its units to strengthen welfare activities and care for workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.

The road to the house of miner Lai Van Tu, Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin these days is filled with the atmosphere of Tet with the brilliant colors of flags and flowers. Tu's neighborhood used to be a workers' neighborhood, where workers working at Vang Danh Coal Mine lived many years ago. Now, with the development of the Coal industry and Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company, every time Tet comes, this neighborhood changes day by day, becoming more beautiful and prosperous than before. That change is partly contributed by miners like Lai Van Tu, an outstanding miner at Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin.

Lai Van Tu is an operator of the synchronized mechanized coal mining system at Mining Workshop 11, the unit with the highest output and productivity in the company. Modern production conditions along with hard work have helped Tu have the highest income, second in the workshop with more than 640 million VND in 2024. During the Lunar New Year this year, Tu received a Tet bonus of 10 million VND and was entitled to redistribution of salary in 2024, along with many other benefits according to the Company's regulations.

Miner Lai Van Tu shared: In 16 years of working as a miner at Vang Danh Coal, I have always tried my best for tons of coal and meters of mine. The more I try to devote myself to my work, the more I love the mining profession. Every year, when Tet comes, spring comes, my family has a prosperous and full Tet. The efforts for work are also duly rewarded because of the recognition and care of the Company's leaders for the workers, including myself. This is the motivation for me and my colleagues to try harder at work in the new year of At Ty 2025.

Phung Ngoc Dan's family has just received great joy, when this year's Lunar New Year, this worker received over 60 million VND from Tet bonus and many welfare sources from Cao Son Coal Joint Stock Company - TKV. This bonus is worthy of the efforts of driller Phung Ngoc Dan after a year of hard work, who has been attached to the Cao Son coal layers for more than 35 years of work.

In the last days of the year of Giap Thin, the leaders of the Company and the Drilling site - where Mr. Phung Ngoc Dan is working, visited and wished his family a Happy New Year. That favor brought great joy and honor, giving him more strength to contribute to the Coal industry in the new year of At Ty 2025.

With the motto "All workers have Tet", this year, the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Trade Union has requested all levels of trade unions to coordinate with professionals to balance revenue sources, use all resources to take care of Tet for miners through activities to support workers' families in difficult circumstances, reward and encourage workers with many achievements in work, and encourage workers to stick with the enterprise.

Units have focused resources on paying salaries, bonuses and benefits during Tet. Accordingly, the average Tet bonus of the whole Group is 10 million VND/person, higher than in 2023. Many units have balanced production and business efficiency, supplementing the 13th month salary for employees. Activities to encourage, visit and give Tet gifts to families of policy workers and exemplary workers have been simultaneously implemented by units. Expenditures on Tet gifts, shuttle buses to take workers home, lucky money on the first day of At Ty, and full moon money in January have all been maintained.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Sinh, Chairman of Cao Son Coal Trade Union, in 2024, thanks to the efforts of the whole team, Cao Son was ranked among the top units of the Group in terms of production and business results. This was also the year Cao Son became one of the leading enterprises of the Group in terms of spending on Tet care for workers and laborers, with an average spending of over 60 million VND/person.

In particular, after many years of maintenance, the Miners' Tet program has become TKV's own "brand" in taking care of workers and miners during Tet. This year, at the Miners' Tet program held in all three regions of Hon Gai - Cam Pha - Uong Bi, TKV directly gave gifts to 1,700 workers participating in the program, and handed over 211 "Union Shelter" houses to workers with difficult housing circumstances.
